Dolon Roy was born on Sunday, 22 February 1970 (age 50 years; as in 2020) in Kolkata. Her zodiac sign is Pisces. Dolon did her schooling from Jadavpur Girls High School, Kolkata. She did her BSc (Bachelor of Science) from Charuchandra College, Kolkata and MSc (Master of Science) from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata.

Career
In Television & Films
Dolon started her career at the age of six by acting in radio dramas. She made her film debut with the Bengali film “Sajani Go Sajani” in 1991.
She also appeared in many popular Bengali films such as Apan Por (1992), Sanghat (1996), Charuulata (2012), Alik Sukh (2013), and Drishtikone (2018). She made her Television debut with the Bengali serial “Maa….Tomay Chara Ghum Ashena” (2009-2014) as ‘Mohini Chatterjee.’
She appeared in many popular Bengali TV shows such as Mon Niye Kachakachi (2015), Byomkesh Bakshi (1993), Stree (2016), Bajlo Tomar Alor Benu (2018), Aloy Bhubon Bhora, and Alo Chhaya (2019).
As a Theatre Artist
Apart from acting in films and Television, Dolon also does theatre. She has performed in various group theatre productions with Anil Dey of ‘Natyayan.’ She has performed in the play ‘Gazi Saheber Kissa’ by Bhibas Chakraborty, with the artists like Soumitra Chatterjee and Gyanesh Mukherjee. In 1997, she went to the United States to perform a play titled ‘Kella Fatey’ directed by Dulal Lahiri.

- Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, interior decoration, writing travel stories and poems, and Feng Shui (Chinese Geomancy).
- For her performance in the Bengali film “Sanghat” (1996), she received the National Film Award for Special Jury Award/Special Mention (Feature Film) in 1997.
- Just after a day of her marriage (on 17 January), her husband, Dipankar Dey, complained of the breathlessness and was rushed to a hospital in Salt Lake, Kolkata, where he was moved to the intensive care unit.
