Amidst the chaos surrounding Tyreek Hill on the front end, coach Mike McDaniel has revealed how much he doesn’t care about the Miami Dolphins’ high drop rate. The coach’s revelations came after the fire that engulfed Hill’s home on January 3.
Mike McDaniel Has No Doubts About Tyreek Hill’s Performance On The Field
Hill was arguably the league’s top wide receiver this season, leading in receiving yards (1,799), touchdowns (13), and yards per touch (14.5). Despite his standout performance, he finished second in the league for drops with 11, just behind Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams’ 12 and tied with David Njoku of the Cleveland Browns.
That didn’t worry McDaniel, however, who spoke about the 29-year-old on the team’s transcript. In the words of the 49-year-old:
“I think when you’re a player of his caliber that our team relies on so much, it can be a bit confusing in terms of him getting a lot of targets and when we go to him in high-risk situations, it’s not like him. just skating in the open.”

Continuing his defense of the NFL star, McDaniel added:
“They are quite competitive. And he has proven time and time again why we keep going to him. There are zero people, including myself, who care about patterns of any kind. He has high hopes of actually making every play. And in that process, there is no such thing as a 100 percent shooter.”
McDaniel’s high praise comes just days after officials solved the mystery surrounding the South Florida home fire that destroyed Hill.
According to The Blast, although there were no casualties, as the footballer and his wife, Keeta Vaccaro, were not at home, officials have blamed someone in their residence at the time of the fire. A spokesperson for the Davie Florida Fire Department revealed that a small child in one of the mansion’s bedrooms started the inferno on Hill’s property.
The child, whose identity is still unknown, accidentally caused the incident while playing with a lighter. However, the details of how the youngster started the fire may never be revealed due to the lack of further investigation.
In short, the Davie Fire Department confirmed they will not pursue the matter further, deeming the child’s actions “unintentional.” However, questions about the children, their relationship with Hill, and whether they were home alone remain.

Before the update on the fire department’s investigation, The Blast reported that Hill and his wife rushed to their Southwest Ranches, Florida, home after being notified of the fire.
Fans saw the athlete’s reaction in a video uploaded by the source that depicted him and Vaccaro outside their still-burning mansion, along with other concerned onlookers. Looking frustrated by the situation, Hill took his hand out of the pocket of his black joggers before saying something to his bride and pointing to her left leg.
In case you missed it, the Garden City alum is recovering from an ankle injury, with his left leg encased in a protective walking boot. Although his wife tried to coax him by rubbing his back, there was a time when he walked away, as if trying to calm down as he helplessly watched his burning mansion.
The videosshared by JPA Football, captured the couple’s arrival as firefighters continued to put out the fire with the caption: “Tyreek Hill and his wife have arrived at their home as firefighters are still working to put out the fire.”
The clip is expected to get viewers talking in response as one person wrote, “Gotta be thankful no one was hurt, scary way to start the year,” said a second, “He’s clearly p—d he can’t do anything,” and fans a third suggests that Hills is actually, “angry at her,” referring to his wife.
Meanwhile, a fourth directed his message at the naysayers who attacked Hills, typing, “You stop posting that guy’s video and leave him alone. The man’s house burned in front of his face. Civilian or not, have some respect.”
The South Florida mansion, a 9,300-square-foot property with two guest houses, a full-size basketball court, expansive pool, home theater, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms, was purchased by the Hills in 2022 for $6.9 million.
