Former President Donald Trump had only words of praise for his mother-in-law, Amalkja Knavs, after her death.
The Republican presidential candidate used his social media platform to pay tribute to the septuagenarian who died after an undisclosed illness.
Amalija is survived by her husband, Viktor Knavs, her two daughters, Melania Trump and Ines Knauss, and her grandson, Barron Trump.

On his Truth Social page, Donald Trump wrote a loving eulogy about his late mother-in-law, Amailja Knavs, who recently died at the age of 78. He died after battling an undisclosed illness for some time.
“This is a very sad night for the entire Trump family!!!” Trump said hours after Amlija’s death. “Melania’s wonderful and beautiful mother, Amalija, has just gone to a beautiful place in the sky.”
The business mogul also praised Amalija, calling her “an incredible woman” and saying she will be “missed beyond words.”
In addition to his post, Trump shared a throwback photo of himself and the group of septuagenarians. In the shot, the two can be seen posing with big smiles on their faces. It is unclear whether the photo was taken while Amalja was battling the disease.

Amalija died on Tuesday night while still being treated in hospital for an undisclosed illness. Shortly after, Trump’s wife and daughter Amlija, Melania, used X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce his death and pay tribute to him.

She added, “Amalija Knavs is a strong woman who always carries herself with grace, warmth, and dignity.”

The mother of one also spoke of Amalija’s love for her family and promised her legacy would continue through her surviving family members.
Melania said again, “She is completely devoted to her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and son-in-law. We will miss him beyond measure and continue to respect and love his legacy.”

Before her death, Donald Trump confirmed speculation that Amalija was ill. He told supporters outside his Palm Beach ranch about his illness during New Year’s celebrations and wished him a speedy recovery during the time.
“Hopefully she will recover,” Trump said of his mother-in-law, per Page Six. “Hopefully, it will be fine, but it’s a tough one, a really tough one.”
Trump’s statement came after sources revealed that Melania spent Christmas with her mother in a hospital.
“Melania has always been very loyal to her entire family,” a source said Fox News the question of the former first lady. “No wonder he’s spending this Christmas with his sick mother.”
Melania’s decision prevented her from attending the Trump family’s Christmas celebration at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
