Donald Trump Fumes Over Potential Property Seizures As Deadline Nears

Donald Trump is not happy about the prospect of his properties being seized because of a $464 million fine imposed on him in a New York civil fraud case.

Taking to his Truth platform, the former president vented about the possibility of it happening, slamming Judge Arthur Engoron, who oversaw the case, and the prosecutor, New York Attorney General Letitia James.

He also claimed that it was a case of election meddling by the “White House” to hinder his campaign financing efforts.

In February, Ergoron ruled that the Republican front-runner should be fined about $355 million for falsifying his business documents to inflate the value of his assets. That amount has increased to $464 million due to interest accrued over time.

With the payment deadline looming, pressure is mounting on Trump, and he has recently been seen taking out the gun against the possibility of his assets being seized if he fails to pay the fines.

Trump denounced his Truth social media platform, per News Week, “Why is it that the Crooked, highly politicized New York Judge, Arthur Engoron, working in concert and coordination with the more corrupt Attorney General, Letitia’ Peekaboo’ James, her Puppet Master, and the White House, is allowed to seize, and sell off, real estate and assets a very successful one that took me years to zone, build and cultivate some of the best of its kind anywhere in the World – IF I’M NOT DOING IT WRONG!”

Trump continued to rage in his post, saying that the fine was “ridiculous and unheard of” and that it was only imposed because they saw “the same amount” in his bank account.

He went further to say that the funds were earmarked for his re-election campaign, claiming that the imposition of the fine was a deliberate attempt to derail his plans.

Trump continued, “I’ve intended to use a lot of that hard-earned money to run for president. They don’t want me to do that—ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”

The deadline for Trump to pay the fine or post bond is March 25. If he fails to meet that deadline, James can legally approach the court to give him the authority to begin seizing the former president’s high-profile properties in New York.

New York’s attorney general has previously expressed his intention to use this measure if Trump defaults.

“If he doesn’t have the funds to pay the judgment, then we will get the judgment enforcement mechanism in court, and we will ask the judge to seize his assets,” James said in an interview with ABC News.

James stated in an interview that he had his “eyes on” Trump’s 40 Wall Street building. The Attorney General also slammed the former president’s claim that he was being tried for a “victimless” crime.

Meanwhile, Trump has yet to reveal how his fine will be paid, although he recently asked an appeals court to intervene in the matter.

In a motion filed by his lawyers, the billionaire claims that he faces “insurmountable difficulties” preventing him from raising the bond after he was reportedly turned down by more than a dozen surety companies.

Lawyers told the court that the companies approached by Trump demanded collateral worth about 120% of the total judgment, amounting to $557 million in this case, which they felt was counterproductive.

Lawyers also claimed that Trump would have to pay a 2% annual fee to secure the bond and that it would require a two-year upfront payment of $18 million. This amount will not be returned even if Trump wins his appeal.

Last week, Trump made a desperate plea to his supporters to help him pass the bond. The former president’s appeal, delivered through his joint fundraising committee, urges supporters to donate $20.24 to $3,300 or more as the payment deadline approaches.

In the message, Trump solemnly declared, “KEEP YOUR DIRTY HANDS OFF TRUMP TOWER,” which is one of the properties James has expressed interest in seizing.

At the time, she also claimed that her legal troubles were a “witch hunt” supported by President Joe Biden, although Biden had previously denied involvement in Trump’s legal matter.

“I call on ONE MILLION Pro-Trump patriots to join and say: STOP THE JOB HUNTING AGAINST PRESIDENT TRUMP!” the message is also read.
