Donald Trump Threatens Prince Harry With Deportation If He Gets Re-Elected

Prince Harry may find himself in trouble with US immigration if Donald Trump is re-elected.

The billionaire mogul recently called out the Duke of Sussex during an appearance at a conservative event, saying he “will not protect him” because the former senior royal “betrayed the queen.”

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan have been living in the US, specifically in Montecito, California, since stepping down from the British royal role in 2020. Although Meghan does not face immigration problems due to US citizenship, Harry had to apply for a visa to allow him to stay in the country.

These types of visas usually come with an expiration date, and Trump, who is still running for re-election as the next president, has stated that the Invictus founder will not receive any preferential treatment regarding his immigration status.

“I will not protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That is inexcusable,” the former president said during an appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Oxon Hill, Md., on Saturday, per New York Post.

“He would be alone if it was because of me,” Trump continued before adding that President Joe Biden’s administration was too “generous” to Harry after “what he did.”

Donald Trump’s issue with Prince Harry appears to stem from the latter’s announcement of his decision to step down from his royal role without first informing the late queen.

“Harry hasn’t even had a meeting with the Queen to discuss their plans before announcing them to the world,” a source claimed at the time the Duke made the decision, per Mirror.

The source added: “The monarchy is an institution based on hierarchy and respect, something that is instilled in boys growing up. What Harry does is drive the horse and carriage through royal protocol – putting their plans on Instagram and their website first .”

The late queen would later announce that a “constructive and supportive way forward” had been found to deal with the Sussexes’ decision to leave. However, all that doesn’t seem to erase Harry’s actions in the eyes of many, including Trump.

Prince Harry recently shared that he has considered applying for US citizenship amid speculation about his immigration status, per Page Six.

“American citizenship is a thought that crosses my mind but certainly not something that is my priority right now,” Duke said in an interview with “Good Morning America.”

When asked what had been holding up the process of getting it, Harry seemed to wiggle his way out of giving the right answer, saying he “don’t know.”

Harry’s current immigration status remains unclear. Being in the US for a short period of time rejects a B-2 visitor visa or through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, which lasts up to six months and 90 days, respectively. There is speculation that he may be on a diplomatic visa, although this has yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Heritage Foundation has disputed Harry’s right to stay in the US

The foundation filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security for not allowing them to obtain the prince’s visa application to verify whether he “used drugs beforehand.”

It comes after Harry revealed in his self-help book, “Spare,” that he had taken psychedelic mushrooms, marijuana, and even cocaine when he was younger. Such disclosures can often create issues for non-Americans seeking to enter the country.

Regarding this, Nile Gardiner, director of the Heritage Foundation, believes that it is important that DHS discloses Duke’s application, as it will determine whether he is given preferential treatment.

“This case raises many issues, whether or not people are given special treatment to come to the United States and whether or not the rule of law is applied equally,” he said, per Telegraph.

He added, “The American people expect it [the president] to strictly enforce immigration laws, and this should apply to anyone entering the US, including royals like Prince Harry.”
