In an unexpected ruling issued Tuesday, Judge Scott McAfee ruled that the six counts in the indictment against Trump and several of his co-defendants, including attorney Rudy Giuliani and former chief of staff Mark Meadows, lacked sufficient detail. In the words of the judge:

“As written, these six counts contain all the essential elements of the crime but fail to allege sufficient detail as to the nature of their commission, i.e., the basic crime sought. They do not provide the Defendant with sufficient information to intelligently prepare their defense.”

As NBC News reported, three of the six dismissed charges were part of Trump’s indictment, leaving him with ten charges remaining in the case.

Trump, along with co-defendants Meadows, Giuliani, and attorney John Eastman, who were affected by the decision, have all entered not guilty pleas.

The request comes as Trump prepares to contest a recent appeals court ruling that ruled he is not immune from prosecution.

Per Caretakermedia personality urged the Supreme Court to stay the US Court of Appeals order on the DC Circuit’s order, which prevented him from proceeding with an “en banc” retrial of the case before a full panel of appellate judges.

The 110-page petition asserts that Trump has met the essential criteria for the nation’s highest court to issue a temporary suspension or stay.

These include the high likelihood that the court will hear the case and the potential for “irreparable injury” to Trump if the case proceeds to trial without delay.

Donald Trump Posts $91.6M Bond As He Appeals E. Jean Carroll CaseMEGA

The update comes just days after The Blast revealed that the Republican has posted a $91.63 million bond as part of his appeal in the E. Jean Carroll defamation case.

Earlier this year, a Manhattan jury awarded Carroll $83.3 million from Trump, acknowledging damages owed to him for “injury to his reputation, humiliation and mental anguish in his public and private life.”

According to the jury’s decision, the 77-year-old man was required to allocate $11 million for a “reputation repair campaign” and $7.3 million for emotional distress resulting from his public statements.

Additionally, as previously detailed, he was ordered to compensate Carroll with $65 million in punitive damages for acting maliciously in his previous statements.

To appeal the case, Trump would have to either satisfy the judgment or post a bond covering the full amount of the judgment. As already mentioned, he chose the latter, posting a nearly $92 million bond on Friday, March 8.
