Actor and singer Drake Bell’s wife, Janet Von Schmeling, has filed for divorce from the former Nickelodeon child star and is seeking legal and physical custody of their child, Explosion confirm. He is also asking for spousal support and wants his last name, Von Schmeling, restored.

Von Schmeling has officially filed for divorce from her husband Drake Bell days after he was reported “missing” and finally found. In a divorce petition obtained by Explosion, Von Schmeling is asking for full custody of their son and also wants spousal support. He also asked the court to restore his family name.
The 28-year-old, who married the Nickelodeon star in a low-profile ceremony in 2018, claims he has been separated from Bell since September 2022.
Von Schmeling’s divorce filing comes in the wake of the actor’s escalating personal problems, with the latest issues being his disappearance and alleged suicide threats.

Earlier this year, Explosion reported that Bell had separated from his wife due to personal problems that were overwhelming him. Resources for Page Six claiming that he had checked into treatment to help cope with his problems.
This comes after Bell was photographed inhaling gas from a balloon while sitting in a California vape shop parking lot, with his son in the back seat of his car.
At the time, the “Drake & Josh” star was still serving two years of probation on child endangerment charges. Bell has also had other run-ins with the law, including two DUI convictions.
Bell pleaded guilty to the charge of child endangerment and before his sentence was read, he said, per many people, “I accept this appeal because my behavior was wrong. I apologize that the victim was hurt in any way, but that was clearly not my intention.” The actor continued, stating, “I have taken this very, very seriously. And again, I just want to apologize to him and anyone who may have been affected by my actions.”

Just a few days ago, a Facebook post by the Daytona Police Department, released a statement saying that Bell was “missing and endangered” after failed attempts to contact him by his loved ones.
The police report mentions that the actor was seen driving a gray BMW 2022, and his last known location is believed to be near Sekolah Menengah Tanah Besar just before 9 p.m. Their report also appeals to the public to help provide any information on Bell’s possible whereabouts.
Hours after the missing report, Police Department spokeswoman Carrie McCallister shared in a statement that Bell had been found safe. It read, “At this time, we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe.”
The actor later came out to clarify the “missing and endangered” reports about him. Taking to Twitter, he revealed that he forgot his cell phone in his car. Bell joked, in a now-deleted tweet, “You left your phone in the car and didn’t answer for the night and this?”

Police reportedly became involved in the situation when they were told that the actor was in an Orlando hotel room, texting family members about killing himself.
Report by Us Weekly, also revealed that Bell’s family was on high alert before a report by the Daytona police department confirmed that he had been found safe. A source for the news outlet said, “There was some communication with family members that raised concerns that they were worried about him and looking for him.”
This shows why the police took the report so seriously, even though Bell’s tweet downplayed the situation.
