Dramatic video shows survivors flee from deadly plane crash on Florida interstate

Heartbreaking new footage shows the moment three survivors sprint free from their burning jet after it crashed into a Florida interstate and killed two others earlier this week.

The trio could be seen scrambling out of the wreckage, which was engulfed in bright orange flames and billowing black smoke as it lay on I-75, video shared with Local News 10 showed.

“Anyone else in there?” Kyle Cavaliere, a passing motorist who stopped to help, shouted to the survivors.

“Yes! Our pilot! Our pilot!” a woman could be heard yelling back as her co-worker fumed next to her.

When asked if the pilot was still alive, the woman replied: “I don’t know. I don’t know much else.”

Authorities said the Bombardier Challenger 600 jet — with five people on board — was trying to land at an airport near Naples when it spontaneously lost both engines.

In a chilling audio recording of the flight, Pilot Edward Daniel Murphy calmly told airport controllers that the plane “wasn’t going to make the runway” just moments before disaster.

The plane attempted to land on I-75, but witnesses said its wing clipped a car and dragged it before crashing into a wall, causing a fatal explosion.

Murphy, 50, and co-pilot Ian Frederick Hofmann, 65, were identified as the two killed in the fiery crash, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office said.

The plane took off from the Ohio State University airport in Columbus, Ohio, at about 1 p.m

It was scheduled to land in Naples around the time of the crash, Naples Airport Authority spokesman Robin King said, when Murphy contacted the tower requesting an emergency landing.

According to flight tracker FlightAware, the plane was operated by Hop-a-Jet Worldwide Charter based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The plane was scheduled to fly back to Fort Lauderdale on Friday evening.

An Ohio State University spokeswoman said the plane was not affiliated with the university, and they had no further information about it.
