Drew Hicks is an Indian American content creator and YouTuber who became popular after his Hindi language videos went viral on social media in 2023.

Drew Hicks was born in Florida, America. After completing his school education, he went to the College of St. Petersburg in Florida to continue his studies. Drew’s family moved to India when he was five, and he spent eleven years of his childhood in various places across India including Varanasi, where his parents studied Hindi at Banaras Hindu University.

Once, he told in a media interview that because of his father’s export business in India, they moved to Bihar where his father was interested in Madhubani paintings. He added that he learned Hindi while in India and considers many places in India to be close to his heart. He said,
India has a variety of landscapes, cities and people, making it difficult for me to pick a favorite. However, I have a few favorites like Kedarnath for its scenic beauty and mountains, Jaisalmer for its deserts and architecture, Goa for its beaches, and Delhi for its parties.”

Career
After completing his formal education, Drew Hicks moved to Thailand from America and started working for an online company. After that, he started working part-time as a content creator, collaborating with other YouTubers including Yachen Lee from Korea in 2019. Yachen Lee is known for his Bihari-Hindi accent and Korean looks. Drew Hicks started a podcast in Hindi with Yachen Lee in 2022.

Soon, Drew’s ability to speak Hindi and Bhojpuri fluently gained attention on social media. After Drew Hicks got married, he started teaching his wife Hindi and recorded their learning journey in different videos on various social media platforms.
