Several law enforcement agencies began chasing the truck around 1:45 p.m. when another driver called 911 about the 18-wheeler driving erratically on Highway 59, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
“It’s extremely dangerous,” Rome Forest police Sgt. Jeff Campbell told KHOU. “It’s an 80,000-pound vehicle coming at people or driving on the road with no regard for public safety.”
“He hit several vehicles during the chase,” Campbell added.
In addition to the police shooting out some tires, the police officer said that spike strips were also used to burst the tires.
