Drone video catches bumbling burglar falling from ladder into Beverly Hills pool

Hilarious drone footage shows the moment a careless thief is served instant karma when he falls down the stairs into a pool at the Beverly Hills home he just ransacked.

The botched home invasion took place in the world-famous California zip code 90210 on January 6, but the Beverly Hills Police Department shared a video documenting the suspect’s failed escape on its Instagram page over the weekend.

The drone footage, set to Rockwell’s 1983 hit “Somebody’s Watching You,” shows the hulking criminal scrambling out of a window and trying to escape down a precarious pool-side staircase.

But in his haste to escape, he loses his footing, causing the ladder to slide into the water, dragging it down with him.

The hapless suspect did an awkward backflip and splashed into the pool of a home on South Palm Drive police say he ran into.

Suspect David Verdun’s plunge was “caught in 4K” by a police drone sent to the home after police were alerted to the break-in by the property’s security system.

After getting out of the pool, a flooded Verdun, 36, tried to hide in the backyard, but police officers who responded to the scene found him and arrested him on burglary charges, ABC7 reported.

The video of the suspect’s spectacular failure has gone viral, attracting more than 44,000 views as of Tuesday, along with dozens of comments reveling in the villain’s quick turnaround.

“The man who operated the drone must be holding back his laughter,” one Instagram follower crowed.

“I wish the water was ice cold,” said another.
