A drug dealer from Columbia was caught smuggling bags of rare pink meth into New York, prosecutors said.
David Urrego Arteaga was indicted Monday in Brooklyn Federal Court on drug trafficking charges after he allegedly tried to smuggle at least 70 grams of pink meth through JFK Airport on April 1 after departing from Rio Negro, Columbia.

Pink meth, sometimes referred to as “Strawberry Quick Meth,” can indicate that cold drugs with a red coating, or even sidewalk chalk, were used in the manufacturing process, according to a 2008 National Institute on Drug Abuse study.
Meanwhile, red meth was seized by DEA agents in Arizona late last year, Fox 10 reported.
