The 50-year-old actor and father of three has finally put the rumors circulating as President to rest as the possibility is “off the table.”
“It is my honor to serve you, the people,” Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson told CBS Sunday Morning. ” “I love our country and everyone in it,” but, “I also love being a father,” he added.
Johnson now has three children. Simone Johnson, 21, whom he shares with his ex-wife Dany Garcia, as well as Jasmine Johnson, 6, and Tiana Johnson, 4, whom he shares with his current wife, Lauren Hashian.
“That’s the most important thing to me, is being a dad, number one,” he continued to explain, “especially at this time, a critical time in my daughters’ lives.”
The “Moana” actress recalled how years ago she was always on the road and “was so busy that I was absent for years” when her eldest child was young. And he doesn’t want to miss out on his children’s lives again. “Because I know what it’s like to be on the road and so busy that I was absent for years when my first child was growing up at this critical age and critical time in his life,” he said.

In the past, the former WWE superstar has toyed with the idea of running for President, and although 46% of Americans would support him, according to a Newsweek poll, Johnson doesn’t feel that’s where he belongs.
“I don’t think our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila-drinking, pickup-truck-driving, fan-clad man joining their club — but if it did, It would be my honor to serve you, the people,” he said on Instagram in response to the poll.

Although running for President is “off the table”, the “Red Notice” actor is still very open and vocal about his political views. In a recent Instagram post, Johnson revealed who he would vote for in the 2020 Presidential Race. “As a politically independent and centrist for many years, I have voted for Democrats in the past as well as Republicans,” he said.
“In this critical election, I believe Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are the best to lead our country, and as my first (public) Presidential endorsement, I am proud to endorse them for the office of our president of the United States,” Johnson continued.
“Progress requires courage, humanity, empathy, strength, perseverance, kindness and respect. Being KIND & RESPECTING each other will always be important. Now we ALL must VOTE,” he concluded.
