During an episode of his podcast, Burke expressed how much he missed Bergeron as the show’s host.
Many people saw this as a dig at Banks considering how far the ratings have dropped since she took over as the main host of the show.
“I have a lot of respect for him,” Burke insisted. “I want to be clear that when I say I’d love Tom Bergeron to be back on the show, that doesn’t necessarily mean Tyra needs to be fired or I don’t want Tyra on there.”
He also clarified his comments in August about the show’s “surviving rookies” were not aimed at or aimed at the former supermodel.

Burke said they were “taken out of context.”
“[When] I’m talking about beginners, not just Tyra,” he said. “I mention any new dancer, any new producer, any new hair and makeup that decides to be on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’ They may face challenges along the way. I don’t mean if Tyra, [specifically]will survive.”
Bergeron and Erin Andrews were unexpectedly fired from the competition show in 2020.

Bergeron said it wasn’t a pleasant experience, but he wasn’t surprised, and there was no blue period surrounding his shot.
“I think Erin and I had more fun getting fired than anyone else,” the comedian said. He added that he had many positive experiences hosting the ABC show.
The star said that producers have the right to “do the show the way they think is best,” and he looks back on most of his time there fondly.
Speaking of producers, Tom sent a very subtle yet touching message to one of them on Twitter.
On March 17, it was announced that ‘DWTS’ executive producer Andrew Llinares had “come out” as the hit dance show’s EP.
Bergeron responded with a tweet that read, “Karma’s ab***h.” He signed with a winking smiley face.
