Despite not being a regular smoker, Sheeran took part in a joint session with Snoop, leading to a hazy experience in which he admitted, “I can’t see right now.”

In a recent episode of Conan O’Brien’s “Needs A Friend” podcast, Ed Sheeran revealed he was stoned to the point of losing his sight during an encounter with Snoop Dogg at one of his live shows at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena in March.

Sheeran, accompanied by his wife Cherry Seaborn and mother-in-law Ann, initially joined Dogg’s entourage for some fun backstage. The “Shape of You” singer, who is not a regular smoker, felt compelled to share a collaboration with the “Bad Decisions” hitmaker, which led to unexpected consequences.

He recalled the experience: “I didn’t really smoke at all, but I was in the dressing room, and they were just like blunt, blunt, blunt. I’m like, I think at some point in the night, I have to, just to say I smoke with Snoop Dogg.

He continued: “He was like, ‘Do you want some?’ so I had some, and I was like, I don’t feel too bad, this is good. Then I had some more, and then I had some more, and then I had some more.”

Sheeran, who recently released his seventh album “Autumn Variations,” is experiencing a huge financial boom, giving himself a whopping £10 million pay rise, as reported by Mirror.

In 2022, its earnings jumped to an impressive £18.3 million, marking an £8.4 million increase on the previous year. The latest financial report showcases its incredible success, with a total turnover of £89 million since 2019.

Despite all his success, Sheeran doesn’t envision performing at the Super Bowl halftime show unless certain conditions are met.

“I think that’s the only way I’m going to do it, is if I join other people,” the “Bad Habits” singer said. “I have no pizzazz. There were all these great performers; I’m not like that.”

He continued, “I won’t have dancers on stage. I won’t have fireworks and blah blah. I can not. That’s not me. I don’t think anybody wants to see me do the Super Bowl.”

Ed Sheeran’s Copyright Legal Battle Is Far From Over

Despite Sheeran’s recent success on his seventh album, the copyright dispute surrounding his hit song “Thinking Out Loud” and its alleged similarity to Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On” is far from settled.

Although one of Sheeran’s accusers recently dropped their case, a different group of plaintiffs has taken the matter to a federal appeals court, starting a new round of litigation that could potentially revive the lawsuit against the British singer.

In their opening brief to the appeals court, Sheeran’s accusers wrote, per Billboard“The district court’s erroneous decision should be reversed, and appellant’s case reinstated so that it may proceed to trial.”

The original lawsuit against the 32-year-old singer was initiated by the daughter of Ed Townsend, co-writer of the iconic 1973 song with Marvin Gaye. This legal battle ended with a jury verdict in May that cleared Sheeran of any copyright infringement.

However, last week, lawyers representing Kathryn Griffin Townsend, the daughter, abandoned their bid to overturn the decision, officially concluding that aspect of the legal dispute.
