Timesthe actor was 22 when he broke into Medallion Prescription Pharmacy to pick up painkillers he was addicted to at the time.

Police, who responded to the pharmacy’s security alarm, arrested and detained him at around 4am and also charged the star with reckless driving. Luckily for her, her TV dad, Van Patten, came to her rescue. Following that, he spent some time in rehab in an effort to get better.

However, the star was arrested again a decade later, in 2002, for driving under the influence and nearly hitting a California Patrol vehicle. Per CBS Newswhen asked about this in court, he denied all charges and insisted that he had been clean of all substances for ten years.
