The wife of notorious Mexican Sinaloa cartel boss Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán has been released from a California halfway house more than a year before the end of a three-year sentence for associating with his gang.
Emma Coronel Aispuro, 33, was sentenced to 36 months in prison in November 2021 after pleading guilty to drug trafficking and money laundering conspiracy related to her husband’s dangerous Sinaloa cartel.
The colonel was released from custody Wednesday morning, a Federal Bureau of Prisons official told The Post.
BOP officials would not disclose the location of the transition facility he was released from or where he will go next.
Coronel, a former teenage beauty queen born in San Francisco, is a regular at Guzmán’s Brooklyn federal trial.
He was initially housed in a federal prison in Texas but moved to a transitional facility in California before his release on Wednesday.

Coronel, who was often referred to as the ‘Narco Queen’ before Guzmán’s arrest, was also ordered to pay a fine of almost $1.5 million in addition to his prison term. He was arrested in February 2021 at Dulles International Airport near Washington, but at the time it was reported that he voluntarily turned himself in to the feds.
Sinaloa cartel chief Guzman escaped from Mexican prisons in 2001 and 2015 before being recaptured in 2016 and put on trial in New York.
Guzmán was convicted in 2019 of engaging in an ongoing criminal enterprise and other charges of distributing large quantities of cocaine in the US. He is currently serving a life sentence at Colorado’s ADX Florence Supermax prison — the most secure facility in the US.

Before her arrest, Aispuro allegedly helped arrange her husband’s escape in 2015. Guzmán recently petitioned a judge to allow Coronel and their two daughters to visit her in prison.
“I’m sorry to bother you to ask you to allow a visit from my wife and bring the girls as well,” Chapo, 66, wrote in a translated version of his letter filed in his Brooklyn federal case.
