Olsen has played her role as Scarlet Witch for years and recently talked about her experience filming it during an interview with her Diversity. The actor shared that it was sometimes very “silly” to shoot scenes due to the use of so many special effects in Marvel movies.

He said, “It’s just ridiculous. There are many stupid things. I always hope that one day they just release the movie version without any special effects, because then you understand how ridiculous it feels. And what a great job that went into making this.”

Olsen mentioned a specific scene from “Avengers: Infinity War,” where Maximoff tries to remove the Mind Stone from Vision’s forehead while also fighting Thanos from getting it first. He said, “It’s such a shame to shoot something like that, because, like, the world depends on you doing it.”

Olsen also shared that she was relieved once they finished the scene. He said, “And I just remember laughing all day, while Brolin (Thanos) was wearing his helmet. And I don’t know. These movies are so silly, but you have to act hard to make it work.”

The “Wind River” actor further explained how filming scenes like the Thanos fight scene was embarrassing. He’s starred in so many Marvel movies since his debut in 2015’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” so he’s definitely had plenty of goofy filming moments. As he spoke, Olsen finally used his hand to demonstrate how he needed to record it.

Olsen said, “Because you’re like. Ugh, I did this in public. But you have one hand that blocks things with energy. And then you have another hand that pulls this fake thing out of this dotted face. And it was painful and emotional.”

He said, “It takes me away from the physical ability to do certain jobs that I think are more in line with what I enjoy as an audience member. And this is me at my most honest.” Olsen also shared that she ended up feeling frustrated with the opportunities she had to give up.

He said, “I had this job security but I lost this part that I felt was more a part of me. And the more I got away from it, the less I was considered for it.” Olsen is one of many Marvel actors and actresses who have spoken out about how their MCU careers forced them to pass up viable opportunities.

During the recent Diversity In the event, Olsen held a red carpet interview, where she learned that Hugh Jackson was reprising his role as Wolverine. He also said that he would like Scarlet Witch to work with more X-Men characters in the future.

Olsen said, “I think Wolverine is the X-Men. It would be cool to work with a lot of people from the X-Men franchise. I think Fassbender is my father in some worlds?”
