Billionaire Elon Musk is considering switching all users to use X, whether they need a blue check mark or not.
Tesla’s CEO is still trying to reduce the number of bots on the platform and seems to believe that charging everyone a monthly subscription fee will reduce the number of spam accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Elon Musk Believes Imposing Monthly Payments On EVERYONE Will Reduce Bot On X

On Monday, SpaceX’s CEO teased that a “small monthly fee” might help lower the bot on the X.
He did so during a live stream conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about artificial intelligence, in comments transcribed by CBS News.
“It’s the only way I can think of to combat a huge army of bots,” Musk said, explaining that X has 550 million monthly users who create 100 million to 200 million posts a day. So it’s not clear if bot posts are included in that number.

“We will actually produce lower tier prices,” he said. “This is a longer discussion, but in my view, this is really the only defense against a large army of boats.”
This looks like it will be separate from X’s premium subscription service, where it charges $8 a month for blue checkmarks and other features, like being able to edit posts and prioritize rankings.
Musk Tries to Boost Content Creation on X
MEGA
Musk has been trying to increase content creation on the platform for a while to make X more profitable and attract more advertisers back to the platform.
On Sunday, Musk tweeted, “For those who are considering putting their work on the X platform, consider that Tucker Carlson’s show when he was on TV, had a single digit million viewers. Strong by old news standards. Viewership for his episodes on X now exceeds the population of the United States. Talk to Earth through X!”
Musk also tried to recruit Bill Maher back to X when he announced that “Real Time” would make a return during the writers’ strike.

In a statement broadcast on X, Bill Maher announced, “Real Time is coming back, unfortunately, without writers or writing. It’s been five months, and it’s time to get people back to work. Writers have important issues that I sympathize with, and hope they dealt with to their satisfaction, but they are not the only people with issues, problems, and concerns. Despite some help from me, most of the staff are struggling tremendously. We all hoped this would be over after Labor Day, but that day has come and gone , and still nothing seems to be happening.”
“I love my writers, I’m one of them, but I’m not ready to lose a whole year and see so many people down the line suffer so much. I will respect the spirit of the strike by not doing the monologue, the table sheet, the New Rules or the editorial, the writing that I am proud of at Masa Nyata,” he continued.

“And I will say it in front of the audience: the show I will do without my writer will not be as good as our usual show, period. But the heart of the show is an extraordinary panel discussion that aims to cut through the predictable nonsense and partisanship, and that will continue,” he concluded. “The show will not disappoint.”
Although he, like Drew Barrymore, quickly backed off his decision to return until the Writer’s Strike was over, it didn’t stop Musk from trying to get Maher to put some original content on X.
“Maybe it’s worth posting some stuff on this platform,” he commented. “The reach is enormous.”
Musk Claims He May Sue ADL
MEGA
Earlier this month, Elon Musk ventured that he might file a lawsuit against the Anti-Defamation League after they allegedly accused X and Musk of anti-Semitism.
Earlier this month, Musk tweeted“To clear the name of our platform on matters of anti-Semitism, it seems we have no choice but to file a defamation suit against the Anti-Defamation League … oh the irony!”
He too tweeted“To be very clear, I’m pro freedom of speech, but against any kind of anti-Semitism.”

“Since the takeover, The @ADL has tried to kill this platform by falsely accusing it & me of being anti-Semitic,” he continued. “Our US advertising revenue is still down 60%, mainly due to pressure on advertisers by @ADL (that’s what advertisers tell us), so they almost killed X/Twitter!”
“If this continues, we have no choice but to file a defamation suit against, ironically, the ‘Anti Defamation’ League,” he wrote. “If they lose the defamation suit, we will insist that they drop the ‘anti’ part of their name, because obviously …”
