Elon Musk Forgives Kathy Griffin, Reinstates Her On Twitter After Almost 2 Weeks

Kathy Griffin is back on Twitter!

Since Elon Musk took over the social media platform in late October, it has undergone several changes, including selling a “Blue” version for $8. However, that soon backfired when individuals began impersonating prominent figures. In fact, Griffin was kicked out for impersonating the co-founder of Zip2.

After two weeks of Griffin’s suspension from Twitter, Musk announced that he would reinstate his account. Canadian media personality Jordan Peterson and satirical site Babylon Bee will also get their pages back.

Unfortunately, the billionaire business figure stated that no decision has been made regarding former US President Donald Trump’s banned account. In his words:

“Kathie Griffin, Jorden Peterson & Babylon Bee have been reinstated. Trump’s decision has not yet been made.”

Given that Babylon Bee and Peterson’s accounts were suspended before Musk’s October 27 takeover for mocking transgender people, they’re thrilled to be back.

The Babylon Bee, which lost its bird app privileges in mid-March when it targeted transphobic tweets at US Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine, answered“We’re back. Let that sink in.”

Meanwhile, Peterson was banned last summer for calling trans actress Elliot Page by her birth name — Ellen — instead of her changed name. Clinical psychologist posted picture of actor Jack Nicholson from the 1980 horror film, “The Shining,” writing, “I’m back. Thank you @elonmusk,” above the media.

Although Griffin has yet to tweet, the comedian reposted Musk’s tweet on Instagram with a reply that read, “Dear Eilon. You are bullshitting, stupid. I’m going downstairs with my head down. You are awake. Xxoo, the Ripper.”

Musk, who once described himself as an “absolute champion of free speech,” also tweeted that the company would work with the new policy. The policy is “freedom of speech, but not freedom of achievement,” adding that “negative/hateful tweets will be maximally de-stimulated and de-targeted.”

The Boring Company founder did not specify what the social media company considers “hateful” or “negative” tweets or the metrics he used to recover certain bird app accounts.

Kathy Griffin Is Painted For Violating Musk’s Rules

Earlier this month, The Blast detailed the events that led to Griffin’s removal from Twitter. Although the Primetime Emmy Awards winner still reads “@kathygriffin,” she has changed her profile picture to Musk, and her display name reads “Elon Musk.” The “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List” star followed up with a tweet that read:

“After many passionate discussions with the women in my life. I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is the right thing to do (They’re hot ladies too, btw.) #VoteBlueUntukMelindungiWanta.”

What started as a “joke” quickly turned sour when word began to spread that Musk had suspended Griffin’s account for impersonating him. When a verified account posted a screenshot of the suspended page of the “Medusa: Dare to Be Truthful” actor, co-founder of “Neuralink”. reply:

“Actually, he got suspended for impersonating a comedian,” adding, “But if he really wants his account back, he can have it. For $8.”

The angel investor’s move appears to be in line with its new move of permanently suspending accounts that impersonate other people without clearly stating “parody”.

On Monday, November 7, Musk elaborated on the new Twitter rules claiming, “Going forward, any Twitter handle that engages in impersonation without clearly stating ‘parody’ will be suspended indefinitely.” In the words of the 51-year-old:

“Previously, we issued a warning before the suspension, but now that we are launching widespread verification, there will be no warning.”

A native of South Africa add that “extensive verification” will be “clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue” and that users will temporarily lose the verified checkmark if they change their name “at all”.

Tesla’s CEO has made a series of changes and regulations since the $44 billion acquisition, including laying off thousands of workers, insisting that Twitter is losing at least $4 million every day.

In the latest incident, the company’s office was reportedly closed following the layoff of the University of Pennsylvania alumni and the mass resignation of many other employees.
