Elon Musk has added another layer to the conditions for his stepping down as CEO of Twitter.
Since he finalized his acquisition of the social media company in October, Musk has made many changes, including establishing new policies that will make using the app smoother for users. In fact, one of his biggest goals is to listen to what people have to say, the only reason that will make him quit as CEO of Twitter following a recent poll.
Elon Musk Will Step Down as CEO Once He Finds a Successor

Before his Twitter takeover, Musk was one of the most liked tech bosses around the world. Unfortunately, that all changed when he assumed his new position, making him a frightening figure to many.
Shortly after realizing how unhappy consumers were with him, Tesla’s boss conducted a survey asking if he should step down as CEO. The poll, which lasted several days, ended with 57.5% of participants voting for him to step down and 43% of them wanting him to stay. Hours after the poll closed, Musk confirmed that he would abide by the results, tweeting:
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take the position! After that, I will just run the software & server team.”
The admission drew mixed reactions, with one person asking, “So you’re admitting that it was a dumb idea to buy Twitter and pay $44B for a company that wasn’t worth $10B and destroy Tesla stock by throwing away $40 Billion last year?”
“I’m ready to run Twitter, incorporate community features that help everyone in our world, open a paradigm to bring Twitter to $1 Trillion, be a role model to inspire everyone to use their voice and respect all shareholders of the entire business,” user Another Twitter submitted.
Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this vote.

A third user added, “this guy is totally unfit to run twitter,” and a fourth quipped, “Hey @elonmusk since I got you and @jack to resign I really believe I’m the only one up for the job. ” Others point to the “terrible” choices and decisions he has made since assuming leadership positions at the company.
In case you missed it, the 51-year-old began his reign by charging $8 for the unique Twitter Blue. By paying a monthly subscription, users get a blue checkmark added to their account and early access to select new features, including ‘Edit Tweets.’
Subsequently, the South African native fired the company’s Chief Executive, Head of Legal Policy and Chief Financial Officer from their positions, according to The Blast. He also laid off an additional 3,700 employees from the organization’s workforce.
A few weeks later, three founding members — Eirliani Abdul Rahman, Anne Collier, and Lesley Podesta — chose to resign from Twitter’s Trust and Safety Council, with Abdul Rahman and Collier announcing the decision in an open letter. A screenshot of the letter, shared via Twitter, read in part:
“It is clear from research evidence that, contrary to claims by Elon Musk, the safety and well-being of Twitter users is deteriorating. The question has been on our minds: Is Musk allowed to dictate digital security because he has freedom of speech? Our answer is a categorical ‘no’.”
SpaceX Chief Engineer Accuses Apple of Making Threats

Musk found himself in new drama last month after he accused Apple of threatening to pull the Twitter app from the App Store. The Blast reported at the time that ‘Chief Twit’ shared, “Apple has also threatened to withhold Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why.”
The statement prompted one user to blame Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the American activist and politician who called out Apple for its indifference to the January 6 Capitol Riots. Others claim that the tech company has a history of cracking down on what kind of “free speech” is allowed on its platform.
Musk’s decision to reinstate former US President Donald Trump’s official Twitter account may also have influenced Apple’s decision to move away from the social media platform under Angel investor rule.
Earlier that week, Musk tweeted, “Apple has mostly stopped advertising on Twitter. Do they hate free speech in America?” before asking, “What’s going on here @tim_cook?”
