Singer Sir Elton John is going out on a high note!
The legendary rocker “Rocket Man” is getting ready to start the second act of his life while staying a little out of the limelight.
John, 75, just finished his last American tour “Farewell Yellow Brick Road”, which has been going on since 2018! Several dates in America were postponed two years ago due to the global arrival of COVID-19.

In addition to the interview, the “Salvation” singer played new music from the band’s or artist’s latest project.
When ‘Rocket Man’ wasn’t behind the radio microphone this year, he spent time in the recording studio with one of the biggest pop stars in music history, recording what would become a hugely popular duet!
John teamed up with the one and only Britney Spears to record “Hold Me Closer” which was released to strong critical and fan acclaim earlier this summer.
The partnership was set up for success before it even began! According to a piece from The Blast’s extensive coverage of the single, the duet is Sir. The idea of Elton John and Spears is a perfect fit; the “…Baby One More Time” singer is a “huge fan” of her duet partner.

‘Pure joy’ must have been one of the many feelings the classic rock legend felt at his last concert in America!
He commemorated the show with an Instagram tribute on Monday, the day after the performance.
“Last night, I played the 204th and last show of my North American tour. I can’t help but think of everyone who was a part of it, at Dodger Stadium and watching at home, for the most incredible night. I love you all and you will forever be in my heart,” Tuan. Elton John captioned the photo, which was taken by photographer Ben Gibson, who has also captured some of the shots on the Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
Last week, Sir. Elton John’s longtime songwriting partner Bernie Taupin posted his own Instagram tribute, counting down the seconds to last night’s performance. Taupin’s photo is a vintage photo of Sir. Elton performed at Dodger Stadium in the seventies.
Will last night’s performance be the last time ‘Rocket Man’ will perform for a large audience? David Furnish, her husband, doesn’t think so!
Furnish told Billboard she “hopes” her lover will “come back as a live performer.”
“It’s important to distinguish between Elton retiring from touring but Elton not playing his last public show for the last time,” Furnish told the publication.
Diving into a more ‘gentle’ lifestyle may not be the easiest process for entertainers.
“[performing] it’s in his blood,” Furnish continued. “When you’re an artist and something’s in your blood, you don’t want to close the door completely.” (according to the New York Post)
