Music legend Elton John has revealed that he and his partner, David Furnish, fully intend to provide for their children, 11-year-old Zachary Jackson and 9-year-old Elijah, regardless of their future endeavors. John and her husband married in 2014 after entering into a civil partnership several years earlier.

The couple initially met in 1993 and dated soon after. They welcomed their first child together in December 2011 via surrogate and two years later extended their family with Elijah. In a previous interview, John revealed his desire to raise his children as normal as possible and make them understand the importance of money and work.

The artist and his family made an appearance at the New York City Saks Fifth Avenue holiday window launch. When E! News asked if the child likes music, the father of two explained it was too early to tell.

“They’re still very young, so not entirely sure,” the “I’m Still Standing” singer said. “But of course, whatever their dreams and ambitions are, my husband David and I will fully support them.” On their ninth anniversary with each other, John and Furnish officially tied the knot and had their children soon after.

During the Los Angeles artist’s performance at Dodger Stadium last week, John brought his family on stage. The show was part of his North American Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, the father of two’s last tour before stepping back to spend time with his family.

Now that he has finished his tour, John is looking forward to spending more time with his children and putting more effort into his philanthropic efforts. He told E! news, “I, of course, can’t wait to spend more time with my children. I also look forward to being able to dedicate more of my time to other projects, such as the Elton John AIDS Foundation.”

For the November 20 performance, several celebrities were present to witness the performer take his final bow. The list of stars who appeared on the show included JoJo Siwa, Jenna Dewan, John Stamos, Sophia Bush, Miles Teller, and others. John wore a silver robe with blue lapels for the performance. His outfit is reportedly a nod to the bejeweled baseball uniforms made famous during the 1975 show.

She explained that the Nov. 20 show was her first time back in a baseball stadium since the 1975 show, giving her outfit choice even more meaning.

The multiple Grammy winner tells E! News“I’ve had so many dresses over the years. Gucci makes incredible crystal-encrusted robes, and [designer] Bob Mackie did a new take on my Dodger hat. It’s the perfect outfit for me to end my US tour in a place that means a lot to me.”

Legendary Singer Writes Sweet Letter To His Children

Earlier this year, while celebrating his 75th birthday, John wrote a loving letter to his son. There he talks about how proud he is of his achievements over the years and hopes that they will always be true to themselves. “You’re 11 and 9 now, and when I was your age, I never imagined where life would take me,” the veteran singer wrote each Time.

“Looking back over the past 75 years, I’m proud of a lot, I’ve learned a lot. When I was young, I was told to fit in, to do what others expected even if it didn’t fit. Now I realize I can only be me. Being honest with myself is what gave me a voice and helped me face my biggest fears.”

In concluding, John tells them that no matter who they grow up to be, they should be “completely and completely” themselves.

In an early 2016 interview with Caretaker, John talks about his sons and reveals that he will raise them to value money and save. He explained that they have to do small jobs for their pocket money and learn the value of working and earning.

“They get £3 pocket money, but £1 is for charity, £1 is for savings, and £1 is for expenses; they get three coins and put them in a separate jar. And they have to work for it – help in the kitchen, help in the garden,” said the artist. “They have to learn the value of doing something and earning something for themselves.”

John further reveals that he tries to make their lives as normal as possible. “They lived a very local life in Old Windsor; they surround their partner’s house; it’s not that kind of showbiz life,” he added. The music legend also said they weren’t usually “stuck behind the mansion door” and frequented places like Pizza Hut, Waterstones and the cinema.
