Emily Ratajkowski explains why she decided to leave the Hollywood film industry despite her growing success as an actress. During the interview with Los Angeles TimesRatajkowski shared that he left more like a “piece of meat” than a talented artist.

The 31-year-old revealed he was tired of playing by the “boys’ club rules,” so he quit. He said, per Daily Mail, “I don’t feel like, ‘Oh, I’m a performing artist, and this is my channel.’ I felt like a piece of meat that people were judging, saying, ‘Does he have anything but him? [breasts]?’”

In early 2020, Ratajkowski decided to fire his manager, acting agent and commercial representative, as he no longer trusted them. He stated, “I was like, “I can handle taking phone calls. I will make this decision. None of you have my best interests at heart. And you all hate women.”’

He Has Several Successful Film Roles

Ratajkowski shared that while her friends were interested in her relationship with the former SNL star, she never understood it. She said, “People are very confused by the idea that a man might just respect women and treat them like anyone else and thus be easy to go out on dates with.”

Ratajkowski and Davidson were first linked shortly after she split from her husband, Sebastian Bear McClard. They were romantically involved for a few months but ultimately decided to remain friends until December 2022. The “Lying and Stealing” star also talked about other issues during the interview, including the story of the party she attended with Bear-McClard and her agent when they were still married. Ratajkowski first wrote about the experience in a 2020 essay, sharing that she hated being there.

During Ratajkowski’s conversation with L.A. Times, he noted that the party was full of “nasty” bosses in Hollywood. She later shared that Bear-McClard’s agent was drunk and said she was “like Pamela Anderson before Hep C.” Anderson is a film star who revealed she was diagnosed with the condition in 2002 but later announced she was cured in 2015.

Ratajkowski also talked about how she grew to resent her husband for forcing her to attend parties and be there alone. The model said, “I have a hard time even being at a party like that. But then having a part of me that is so connected to it is even harder.”
