Hailie Jade Mathers and her sister Stevie Laine Mathers get sentimental as they reminisce about their childhood!

Hailie, 27, unexpectedly found herself in tears during the Halloween episode of her podcast, “Just A Little Shady,” as she engaged in a heartfelt conversation with her sister, Stevie, 21.

A Trip Down Memory Lane

The siblings share the same mother, their father Eminem’s ex-wife, Kim Scott. However, Stevie’s biological father was Eric Hartter, a tattoo artist, who died in 2019 of a suspected drug overdose.

In 2005, Eminem adopted Stevie following a reconciliation with Scott. He also has an adopted daughter, Alaina, 28, whose mother is Scott’s late twin sister, Dawn, who tragically died of a drug overdose in 2016.

During the talk, he discussed his ex-wife’s struggle with substance abuse, emphasizing, “You can’t let a child feel like it’s their fault for what happened.”

The moment was emotional for Hailie as she recalled the excitement she felt when she found out her mother was expecting Stevie. Siblings share a six-year age difference.

Hailie shared that when Stevie arrived, she quickly developed a strong bond and felt a sense of ownership, recalling, “When you were born, I was like, ‘A baby for me! Mine!'”

Hailie praised Stevie for his wide range of interests, noting that he remains “unfazed by everything” in the context of their unconventional family dynamic.

“You’ve lived like a thousand lives,” the podcast host marveled at her younger sister’s childhood activities, which included horseback riding and gymnastics.

“You just try a lot of activities, and then you’ll be good at them all. And then I’d say, ‘That’s annoying. Why are you so athletic?’”

Growing Up With Pets

Hailie and Stevie also remember having pets and falling in love with their dad’s dog.

“When we were growing up, our dad had a Great Dane and we were obsessed,” Hailie recalls of Stevie. “They are the sweetest dogs in the world but they are huge. I remember we fell in love with papa’s dog, Timber, and then—when you got Duke—we were like, ‘Where are we going to put this horse because it’s so big!’”

Stevie Laine Opens Up About Her Relationship With Declan Jace

Currently, Stevie, who came out as bisexual in 2017, devotes their time to volunteering at animal shelters and helping kindergarteners learn to read.

Apart from finding their own passion, Stevie has also found love. They now live with their partner of over two years, Declan Jace.

“I think if you have a relationship with someone, it can work,” Stevie said. “Especially if you put in the time for it to work.”
