After being separated for nearly a year, DWTS couple Sasha Farber and Emma Slater officially filed for divorce on February 21, 2023. According to official court papers, the couple cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the official split, with the official separation date set for 1 April 2022. Sasha Farber proposed to Emma during a live DWTS show in October 2016, and the couple married two years later. He said during the proposal:
“I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time, Honey. I adore you to pieces. Will you marry me?”
DWTS’ Sasha Farber and Emma Slater have split temporarily after three years of dating.
The DWTS couple first met on the stage of Scorch The Floor on Broadway, and they confirmed their engagement two years later in 2011. However, after three years together, they ended their romance in 2014 but decided to remain friends and work closely together. Emma told Vogue that she thought the world of Sasha and that the two were still living together when they were temporarily separated. The entertainer went on to say that he was the greatest person and that he wouldn’t have been so close to her for three years if he hadn’t thought the world of her.
He went on to say:
“He’s the greatest man. I don’t believe we are destined to end up together. I believe there are other individuals who can make us both happy, but I will always be his closest friend. Right now, I feel like his closest friend. It just happened in the way we went from a wonderful three-year partnership that I admired and cherished to a close friend.”
He conveys his happiness with where they live and his admiration for him. Emma stated that they both realized things weren’t going as they should, so they grew up and made the decision. He goes on to state that they are still in love and that she is the only one he has in America. They decide to be together because he wants the best for her.
The DWTS couple reunited and chose to give love another chance a year later, in 2015, and Slater proposed a year later. In a chat with Us, Farber said that Emma and Sasha’s wedding is something out of a fairy tale. He goes on to say that he keeps telling his new bride how beautiful she is.
Emma then said:
“We are now at the top of the planet. It was the most incredible day. It’s really amazing. There were no accidents. It was great. It’s amazing. ‘This is not normal,’ I kept telling myself. This is not typical. This shouldn’t happen.’ It went so well, and it was a celebration from the time we arrived upstairs to the banquet until late at night.”
According to insiders, the DWTS couple divorced in August 2022, and there was no animosity between them at the time. The couple recently filed for divorce. DWTS just finished season 31 and has been renewed for a second season on Disney+.
