Erin Jackson was born to her parents Tracy Jackson and Rita Jackson. During an interview with NBC Olympics, he has talked about his parents. Erin said, “Since both of my parents come from large families, I have a very large extended family.” Both of his parents care about education.

Meet Tracy Jackson, Erin Jackson’s dad. Erin shared with NBC Olympics that her father recently moved to Utah and they got a house together near the Olympic Oval. In 2018, Erin wrote on her IG that she “was able to spend time with my dad before heading back to Salt Lake City. Tracy is so excited to hear about all the support that has poured in to help her get to South Korea. We can’t thank you enough for you all.”
In 2018 during the Olympics in South Korea, Erin had her dad with her who she revealed on her IG “wouldn’t be the same without him”. But, speaking to Sports Illustrated, he shared, “I didn’t tell my dad and my family that I was going to the Olympic trials because for me, it wasn’t an Olympic trial. I’m going to do this race that happens to be the place where everyone else is trying to qualify for the Olympics.”
Erin told the Star Tribune, “He means a lot to me. I have always been a daddy’s girl. Just having her love here and now, it’s like I never left.”
Because her father was the only parent in her life, Erin was very close to him. On Father’s Day 2020, he wrote on his IG, “Happy Father’s Day to my favorite old man and my biggest supporter”.
Reportedly born on March 16, 1949, Tracy Jackson is 72 years old in 2021.
Several online news outlets are reporting that Tracy Jackson is a retired Army veteran and a retired fire truck builder. Prior to retirement, Tracy worked for E-ONE, Inc. E-ONE is a division of REV Group, Inc., a worldwide designer and manufacturer of fire rescue vehicles based in Ocala, Florida.
The company in 1974 pioneered the use of extruded aluminum in the first responder vehicle and continues to lead the industry today with its innovative use of this material. The company is known for selling VECTOR, EMAX, Pumpers, VM8 Pumpers, Tankers, Aerial ladders, Aerial platforms and other products.
In February 2018, E-ONE tweeted, “E-ONE is holding a send-off for employee Tracy Jackson who is headed to the #WinterOlympics in South Korea to watch her daughter @ErinJackson480 compete in long track speed skating! Join us in supporting #ErinJackson! #EONEstrong #olympics”.
After Erin’s win, E-ONE shared on their Facebook page, “E-ONE is proud of Ocala’s own Erin Jackson – daughter of E-ONE retiree Tracy Luke Jackson – who made history today as the first black woman to win a medal in figure skating pace at the Winter Olympics, taking Team USA gold in the 500m race for the first time in 28 years! Way to go!!”.

Meet Erin Jackson’s Mom, Rita Jackson
Erin Jackson lost her mother Rita Jackson a while ago. More precisely she died on March 17, 2011. Erin featured her mother once on her IG and wrote, “I’m always sad for my dad that the day after his birthday is a difficult day. It’s been 10 years since my mother died, but we still miss her every day. I hope he gets to see me graduate from high school or college or compete in the Olympics.”
Erin added, “I also wish I had more pictures of him! There were a lot, but we somehow misplaced the bag after gathering all the pictures before his funeral. Maybe they will show up one day. For now, I’ll keep using this one :)”
His mother really misses seeing his achievements. But, one of her family friends wrote on her Facebook, “Yay Erin Jackson – Athlete! Rita is the happiest Mother I have ever met”.
At the time of her death, Rita Jackson was 53 years old. Erin’s mother was born on September 2, 1957.
When her mother died, Erin’s family friend shared the story on her Facebook, “I remember being surprised by the phone call you made while we were in China. You just won a world medal for the United States, but your mom is more concerned with wishing her baby girl a happy birthday. That kind of love, knowing what’s important, amazes me. Stay strong, Erin. We all love you.”
