They have no motive or greed in them. The majority of Indian students were impressed by the speech of Subhash Chandra Bose who suffered from isolation and supported the alliance power.
In a working committee meeting held at Wardha on 14 July 1942 the Congress first embraced the idea of struggle. The All India Congress Committee which met in Bombay in August confirmed this decision to fight.
In his speech Gandhi made it very clear “I will not be satisfied with anything less than complete freedom. Perhaps, he (Young King) will propose abolition of salt tax, evil drink. But I will say nothing but freedom” . Gandhi then followed up with the now famous Do or Die cry. “This is the Mantra, the short one I give you.
You can imprint it in your heart and let every breath you take express it. The mantra is Do or Die. We will either liberate India or die in the attempt; we shall not live to see the perpetuation of slavery”.
Sporadic small-scale violence broke out across the country and the British arrested tens of thousands of leaders, keeping them imprisoned until 1945. In terms of immediate objectives, Quit India failed due to heavy repression, poor coordination, and lack of a clear program of action.
However, the British government realized that India could not be governed in the long run and the question for the post-war era became how to exit gracefully and peacefully. The British responded to the Indian freedom fighters with brutality. Many people were arrested, many were tortured. The British also shot unarmed men, women, old people, and even children.

During the Second World War many people suffered and many horrible events also happened where many lost their lives and many had to go through many struggles.
