According to scientists, the sun is as old as our solar system because there are other planets in the sun. All our planets are formed from material that came out of the sun when it formed. According to science, the sun is four and a half billion years old. The sun is a huge ball of fire and contains hot gas. This giant star is what shines in our sky every morning and gives us light until it sets on the horizon.
The sun is made of helium and hydrogen which is its fuel. There is 28% helium and 70% hydrogen that make up the sun. There are other gases found in the core of the sun and they are nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon. There are other elements such as magnesium, sulfur, neon, and silicon. The sun is very bright and 4 thousand times brighter than the full moon in the night sky.
When the sun rises it can drown the darkness on earth and start a new day on our planet earth. Without the sun life is impossible on earth because to grow everything needs the light and warmth of the sun. Without the sun our planet would turn into an icy planet and it would be impossible for life to exist on earth. The magnitude of our star is 26.74 and it is very bright indeed.
