He announced that a new album will be released on October 21, 2022, and rumors say it will be his most “experimental” album yet.

As the “Love Story” singer told her fans on Twitter, “Midnights, the story of 13 sleepless nights spread throughout my life, is out October 21st. Meet me at midnight.”

Earlier this month, a source told The Sun that Taylor has been working on a new album while many fans await the release of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). The source claims Taylor Swift plans to “surprise fans with her most experimental album yet” and will give fans “a new look at her romance with actor Joe Alwyn” in this upcoming album.

An insider told the publication “Taylor is enjoying the process of playing around with new sounds and is ready to showcase a variety of genres on her next album, which will surprise her fans,” adding, “It will also be her most collaborative album yet. and she can’t wait -looking forward to working with upcoming female artists and producers.”

They also said that the “Mirrorball” singer invited “some friends” to collaborate with her, but no names have been released.

“She recently invited some friends to co-write with her and the song they came up with reminded her team of Stevie Nicks and Joan Armatrading,” the insider said, adding, “Her fans are used to hearing about her breakup but her views on romance have changed since being with Joe and this will appear in the music.”

The insider’s comment about how Taylor is “excited to work with up-and-coming female artists and producers” echoes what “Cruel Summer” said when she first announced the album during her VMA acceptance speech for Video of the Year in 2021. “All Too Well: The Short Film” on Sunday night.

“I decided that if you would be this generous, and give us this … I thought it might be a fun time to tell you my new album comes out Oct. 21, and I’ll tell you more at midnight,” he said. On midnight is when he released the news about the album to his social media account.

Taylor To Release ‘Clean’ Version Of ‘Midnights’

Taylor Swift’s fan page was quick to point out that “Midnights” will be an explicit album, including a shot of the “Clean” version available for pre-order.

“Ohh he’ll say f— so many times,” commented one fan.

“When one of the ‘sleepless nights’ was because she was having s3x with Joe and it showed a tape of their s3x,” another fan ventured, though one fan responded, “That song exists. It’s called Dress.”

A Taylor Swift fan page is reporting that the artwork Taylor shared on her social media channels may not actually be the official “Midnights” album cover, according to a record store. They attached a screenshot from Beyond Vinyl that says, “Album artwork is a mockup by the label and may differ upon release!”
