A woman accused of hosting a party for her teenage son and his friends in Northern California where she encouraged them to drink and sexually assault intoxicated girls was charged Monday with more than five dozen felony and misdemeanor charges.
Shannon Marie O’Connor, 49, was indicted by a Santa Clara County grand jury on 63 counts including child endangerment for providing alcohol to a minor and aiding and abetting sexual assault, the Mercury News reported.
Seventeen of the alleged victims testified at the grand jury trial, the newspaper said.
It was not immediately clear whether O’Çonnor, who was ordered to remain in jail without bail, had an attorney who could speak to the charges.
Prosecutors contend that O’Connor threw six alcohol-fueled parties in 2020 at his then-Los Gatos home and elsewhere.

Prosecutors allege he bought beer, vodka, whiskey and other liquor and encouraged the teenagers, most of whom were aged 14 and 15, to drink until they passed out.
He also told them to keep the gathering a secret and on several occasions helped teenagers sneak out of their homes in the middle of the night to attend, according to court documents.
At a December 2020 party, O’Connor allegedly handed a boy a condom and pushed him into a room with an intoxicated girl. Both are minors.

The girl was able to escape and locked herself in the bathroom, authorities said in court filings.
During a New Year’s Eve party at his home with about five 14-year-old children, O’Connor allegedly watched and laughed as an intoxicated teenager sexually assaulted a young girl in bed, authorities allege.
In another case, he allegedly took a drunken teenager into a bedroom in his home where he sexually assaulted a drunken 14-year-old girl.

The girl told investigators that at another party she got so drunk that she nearly drowned in a hot tub, according to court filings.
O’Connor was arrested in 2021 in Ada County, Idaho, where he was living at the time.
