A former GOP candidate for lieutenant governor in Pennsylvania and right-wing “parents’ rights” activist is accused of punching a teenager in the face and giving liquor to a minor at a birthday party he threw for his daughter.
Clarice Schillinger, 36, allegedly punched a 16-year-old boy in the face three times during a Sept. 29 party that went past midnight and was charged about a month later with simple assault, harassment and furnishing alcohol to a minor, according to an affidavit police disclosed by the Bucks County Courier Times Thursday.
Schillinger’s mother, Danette Bert, and her then-boyfriend Shan Wilson also face charges of simple assault and harassment.
His “drunk mother” allegedly punched a teenager in the eye and the former lover is accused of punching the same teenager in the face and assaulting another young contestant, the affidavit said.
Those charges were later dropped, and Bert and Wilson instead reportedly pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in December.
The alleged violence arose after Schillinger prepared between 15 and 20 minors “Vabodka New Amsterdam and Malibu Bay Breeze rum” in the basement of his Doylestown home to celebrate his daughter’s 17th birthday, police allege.
“Schillinger not only prepared alcoholic beverages but poured injections and drank with minors and even participated in drinking games,” the affidavit published by the Daily Beast stated.

The one-time political candidate encouraged his teenage daughter’s friends to take pictures with him and play beer pong with high school students, according to the document.
But the celebration turned sour when “chaos broke out between intoxicated adults,” prompting the teenager to leave the house, police said.
The event has spiraled out of control since then.
Wilson allegedly punched a 15-year-old in the face and then Bert reportedly threw the next punch and chased a different teenager around the kitchen. He is also accused of assaulting a 17-year-old girl, according to police records.

Schillinger ordered his daughter’s friend to stay home. When they gathered near the front door to leave, he allegedly lunged at the group and punched the teenager three times on the left side of his face, police allege.
Several cellphone videos of parts of the attack were obtained by investigators, records show.
Schillinger’s attorney, Matthew Brittenburg, said his client is looking forward to fighting the charges in a statement to the Courier Times.
“Ms. Schillinger has dedicated her life to public service,” Brittenburg said. “Also, he has always been a law-abiding citizen. Ms. Schillinger looks forward to the opportunity to defend these allegations.”

The drunken attack was not the first time police had been called to Schillinger’s address. Just five days earlier, police came to his door for a report of possible underage drinking and found beer cans strewn around the property and saw 20 minors run into the house.
“On that date, Schillinger was intoxicated and uncooperative with police,” the affidavit said.

He began heading a state political action committee in 2021 dedicated to electing school board members who oppose mitigation efforts in school buildings amid the COVID-19 pandemic after he headed another smaller PAC fighting to return students to in-person learning.

He later became the executive director of a federal PAC called Back to School USA. Its goal is to combat “liberal teachers’ unions and special interest groups responsible for indoctrinating our children.”
“Back To School USA is really going to focus on putting candidates who will put our kids and their education first,” Schillinger said in 2022, according to the Buck County Courier. “At the moment, we are not doing that. We’re more focused on this idea of getting up and gender.”
Pennsylvania venture capitalist Paul Martino provided funds for the state PAC and worked with Schillinger on the national level, but told the press this week that Back To School USA “never got off the ground” because other projects were more important.
