Ex-rocker named a person of interest in girlfriend’s mysterious disappearance

A California woman has gone missing and her rock musician ex-boyfriend is considered a person of interest – but he is not cooperating with the investigation.

Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann, 61, who was dating musician Theo Lengyel, was last seen in Santa Cruz on Dec. 3, the El Cerrito Police Department said in a statement.

Her family reported her missing on December 12 after not hearing from her for more than a week.

“El Cerrito investigators located her vehicle in front of the home of her boyfriend, Theobald (Theo) Brooks Lengyel (54), in El Cerrito, CA,” according to a police statement.

His vehicle is described as a red 2007 Toyota Highlander SUV with license plate 5VAC944.

“Based on his actions, Theo Lengyel is a person of interest in the disappearance of Alice Hermann and is not cooperating with the police investigation,” police added, adding that he also used the name “Mylo Stone.”

Lengyel traveled by vehicle from El Cerrito to Portland, Oregon, in the days after Herrmann’s disappearance, police said.

Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann, 61 went missing on December 3rd. Ryan Trac Herrmann’s boyfriend, Theobald Brooks Lengyel, 54, was described as a person of interest in her disappearance.

Herrmann is described as a 5-foot-4 Pacific Islander woman with hazel eyes and brown hair.

Lengyel plays saxophone, clarinet and keyboard in the rock band Mr. Bungle, reports SFGATE.

He is a founding member of the funk-metal group, which was started by a group of Humboldt County high school students, according to the outlet.

“El Cerrito Police investigators are working with detectives from the Capitola and Portland Police Departments to find information and evidence related to Alice’s disappearance,” police said.

Herrmann’s vehicle was found in front of Lengyel’s home, police said.

The department is asking people “who spend time in regional parks and open spaces to be on the lookout for anything suspicious that might lead to Alice’s whereabouts.”

Lengyel had a nearly 10-year run with Mr. Bungle from 1985 to the mid-1990s, SFGATE reported.

In 2005, member Trevor Dunn said Lengyel had left on bad terms.

“We unanimously decided to move on without him because he wasn’t growing with the rest of the group and we ran out of things for him to do,” Dunn reportedly wrote one fan during a Q&A.

Lengyel plays saxophone, clarinet and keyboard in the rock band Mr. Bungle.

“He was angry and I haven’t heard from him since,” he added.

The LinkedIn profile for Lengyel lists his occupation in software development and programming.

One of his clients wrote in a proposal: “I, Mylo Stone, hereby support Theo Lengyel and everything he has done.

Police are seeking the public’s help in the investigation.

“I know him well, and I can say without hesitation that the scariest thing about him is his unfulfilled potential,” he added.
