Former “Saturday Night Live” writer Kevin Brennan seems to be reveling in his newfound fame after receiving backlash for laughing at the death of actor Matthew Perry.
The comic recently took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share how much he has been enjoying the attention his crude remarks have brought.
On Sunday, Brennan made a statement mocking Perry’s death, which led to an onslaught of comments condemning the comedian’s bad behavior.

Ever since he came under fire for his lame joke about the death of “Friends” actor Matthew Perry, former “SNL” writer Kevin Brennan was just happy with his actions and refused to apologize.
He recently took to his page on X to share various screenshots of what he believes to be the accomplishments brought about by his crude comments.
Brennan made a post highlighting a list of trends on X with his name at the top, writing, “We did it.”
In another tweet, he responded to user X who wrote that they hoped he would never get a job again.
The person said, “Here’s hoping Kevin Brennan’s podcast never turns a profit and he ends up asking for work from people who refuse to hire him.” Brennan replied, “The opposite will probably happen.”
The podcaster also retweeted a screenshot of his IMDB page, which had been edited to read that he died on October 30.

Brennan’s actions came after he was called out for being insensitive about Perry’s death.
In his first lame joke, Brennan says, “DROWNING IN A HOT TUB. HAHAHAHA.”
Doubling down, he added in another tweet, “I’m not mocking him. I just thought it was funny. But I love it when junkies die.”
Perry’s fans wasted no time in slamming her for the joke, with many commenting on her thirst for attention.
One person said, “Congratulations on your 1 day of fame, it only took 23 years after you were obviously relegated to Weekend Update. No wonder this is your pinnacle, failure then and failure now.”
Another wrote, “The main problem is that you’re not that funny. You try, with some dark humor and sarcasm, and that can be funny against all odds. But the painful truth is that it’s all pretty bland…”

In addition to his IMDB page, Brennan’s Wikipedia page was altered by angry fans to reflect his comments about Perry’s death.

A recent report revealed that the star’s body was only in the water for a short time before he was found by his assistant, whom he sent on orders.
Although Perry had a history of substance abuse, he appears to have recovered and was reportedly committed to a new film project before his unfortunate passing.
