An American Airlines plane was reportedly forced to turn back to the gate due to high winds — fart-smelling “disgruntled” passengers.
The massive stench on the inflatable flyer was revealed while a recent flight from Phoenix, Arizona, to Austin, Texas, was still on the ground, according to a viral Reddit post.
“Before most people got on the plane, I noticed that this guy sounded disgruntled about something, maybe drunk, a hard day, but as soon as he sat down he muttered something under his breath, like ‘f—ing hell’ or something. ,” user lamgalatx wrote.
After the majority of passengers boarded, the man reportedly exclaimed: “You think that’s rude? What about this smell” — and proceeded to pass gas.
“(I don’t know) what sparked the comment, and while it was kind of funny to hear, it was inappropriate especially coming from a grown man on a plane,” the user wrote.
But the rude behavior of the passengers who farted excessively did not end there.

“The guy who farted on purpose a while ago decided to loudly and condescendingly say ‘Yes, everyone, let’s eat the most rotten food at the same time,'” the poster wrote.
“A guy in line replied, ‘If you don’t like it you can fly private’ to which the farting guy said ‘That’s very rude,’ and someone else nearby chimed in ‘I think we’d all agree with you. ‘Is there something rude here,’” added the witness.
At one point, a flight attendant intervened and told the violator, “Enough.”
The plane was taxiing to the runway but stopped, according to the Redditor.

“An announcement came up saying ‘Sorry for the interruption but we’re back to the gate, we’ll give you more info when we get it,'” the user wrote
“We got back to the gate and a flight attendant came back and informed the fart that she wouldn’t be staying on this flight. He just replied, ‘I don’t understand’ and he told her they would discuss it outside the plane.”
The man took his bag and got off the plane.
“We all breathed a sigh of relief when he was removed, I think most people were worried about what he might say or do next. The trip was only delayed 15-30 minutes, so overall I think the Americans got over it pretty quickly,” he added.
Reddit users aren’t holding back with their gas-related jokes.
“Maybe the other flight ran out of gas?” one person wrote,
“He missed the opportunity to fart on his way out and yell, ‘YOU SMELL!'” quipped another.
The Post has reached out to American Airlines for comment on the massive stench.
