The uncertainty surrounding the film’s future is a result of Miller’s recent spate of controversies, including pleading not guilty to a “felony count of burglary” on Monday. If convicted, they face up to 20 years in prison which could permanently affect their careers.

On Oct. 17, the “Perks of a Wallflower” star appeared virtually in Green Mountain State Superior Court to plead guilty to burglary charges related to an Aug. incident. They allegedly broke into a neighbor’s Stamford home and consumed some alcohol.
Per Deadline, the court charged them with “a felony count of burglary into an occupied dwelling” and a second count of “petit larceny.” In March, the police department arrested Miller after using abusive language at a bar and “harassing” customers. Following that, the court charged them with harassment and indecent behavior.

On April 19, Miller was embroiled in another legal drama when they faced second-degree assault charges in Hawaii after reportedly throwing a chair at a 26-year-old woman. Miller also ran into minor trouble after parents accused the actor of grooming and molesting their underage children.
