Faisal Kapadia met his wife, Seema, for the first time in 1989. During a media interaction, while talking about his family, he said,

I met him at a time when String’s journey was just beginning. In 2000 my eldest son Armaan was born. He was born right when we just got back from shooting the Duur music video. After that Jibran was born in 2004. So in these 20 years, the children have grown up and now I really want to spend time with them, and then see where and what I get inspiration from.”

Career

string

Faisal Kapadia started his music career during his graduation days, when he created the band ‘Strings’ with his friends Bilal Maqsood, Rafiq Wazir Ali, and Kareem Bashir Bhoy. Initially, the group was signed to EMI Records. Despite selling 20,000 copies in the first week, their early efforts with synthesized sounds and rhythms were not immediately recognized. Two years later, the group released their second album, ‘2,’ which featured their first hit, ‘Sar Kiye Yeh Paha.’ This song garnered ‘Strings’ widespread critical acclaim as a band. After the release of their second album, the band members decided to take a break from it to focus on their studies for final exams. To maintain the group’s popularity, Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood agreed to release a new song in 2000. The song was called ‘Duur,’ and it was followed by another song called ‘Dhaani’ (2003).

The turning point for me was when I got a call from Xulfi.” I was on a family vacation in the summer of ’21 when he called to ask if I wanted to perform this song, and I told him, ‘Xulfi bhai, I never saw myself producing music after Strings.’ But the 30-minute chat was so motivating that I felt as if destiny was calling me. “The musician in me was struck again.”

Phir Milenge, his debut song, is powerful and emotive, with a simple chord structure that is neither exaggerated nor exaggerated. Faisal’s vocals, his heavy voice, and Young Stunners’ ferocious energy turn the song into a tribute to anyone who has ever loved and then left them. The three artists are seen wandering through a labyrinth filled with textures and beautiful memories displayed on the walls in the video. The singers travel together but never meet, searching for an artifact that has been left behind. The video was shot in one take by filmmaker Zeeshan Parwez and his intrepid team.

Facts/Trivia

  • Faisal likes to collaborate with Young Stunners, another Pakistani rap and hip hop combo featuring the vocals of Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus. He excitedly recounted his experience with them as

It is important to grow and try new things. The first time I met the Young Stunners was on set, and I made them listen to a Strings rap that was made years ago when they probably weren’t even born!” For their part, the Young Stunners don’t sound like Pakistani boys imitating Drake, they sound like clear-eyed city kids with something to get off their chest. Add in Faisal’s trademark, and we have a song that makes us feel like there’s hope around the corner.”

    He added,

I realized that I have a lot to learn after CS, especially when working with Young Stunners. I have decided to work with more new individuals, especially young ones. I also instructed Xulfi to lead me through the song. Because there are many more areas that I have not yet explored. I’m not looking for hits; I want to experiment and try new things. They say you’re missing out if you don’t try. But if you try, there’s a chance you’ll succeed.”

  • According to Faisal Kapadia, he strongly believes that it doesn’t matter if something is big or small as long as it inspires anyone. A person’s life would be wonderful if every night they went to bed looking forward to the morning because they wanted to do this again. This kind of inspiration can be found in anything, in sports or whatever you like. He waits for those moments to inspire him and he wants to keep learning.
  • Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood officially confirmed their group’s disbandment via Instagram on March 25, 2021. Posting the news of the group’s split, fans and followers went through a huge emotional breakdown. When Faisal Kapadia was asked about it, during a media interaction, he said,

Strings decided to end its journey last year, I personally feel very lucky to have made that decision, …. In 1992, after releasing our second album Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar, we called it quits, only to return in 2000 to make more music. We also did a lot of Coke Studio seasons. But last year, we stopped permanently after realizing how far we had come and how far we didn’t want to ruin it. The songs Bilal and I created together, they are here to stay. Gaanay hamesha zinda rehtay hain, even if the artist leaves. I will carry it out; Bilal will implement it. If you know us closely, you will know that Bilal and I are always at odds. As Strings, we complement each other. Where I am weak, he is strong, and vice versa. So, because of that, we learn a lot from each other. We didn’t let that go. We will make something new out of it.”
