Family pleads for return of grandmother, 85, taken hostage in Gaza

An Israeli woman has made a desperate plea for help for her 85-year-old grandmother who was captured and taken to Gaza by Hamas terrorists – and slammed Israeli officials for not communicating with her family.

“This is my grandmother, she was arrested and taken to Gaza,” wrote Adva Adar on Facebook. “His name is Yaffa Adar and he is 85 years old!!”

His anguished cries for help came as a surprise attack by Hamas terrorists claimed the lives of more than 600 Israelis.

“My grandmother established a kibbutz with her own hands, believing in Zionism, in this country that had left her, a hostage,” Adar wrote. “He seems to have been thrown somewhere, in great pain, without medicine, without food, and without water, dying of fear, alone.”

“And nobody talks to us, nobody can tell us anything,” Adar added.

The terrified granddaughter said she felt more needed to be done to bring those arrested home safely, writing that she hoped the Israeli government “will not sleep at night and hand over every piece of land until these people come home.”

“Understand that there are people here, elderly and children, women and men, with names and families,” he wrote.
