Fani Willis accused of lying about relationship timeline with Trump prosecutor Nathan Wade: bombshell court filing

Embattled District Attorney Fani Willis has been accused of lying about the timeline of her relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade in a new court filing.

Mike Roman, who along with Donald Trump was indicted for election fraud by Wade and Willis in Fulton County, Georgia, made a filing late Friday in the case.

In it, his attorney claims Wade’s former law partner Terrence Bradley will testify their romantic relationship began before he was appointed to prosecute in 2021, according to the Washington Post.

“The romantic relationship between Wade and Willis began before Willis was sworn in as district attorney for Fulton County, Georgia in January 2021,” the filing said.

“Therefore, Bradley can confirm that Willis entered into a contract with Wade after Wade and Willis began a romantic relationship, thus contradicting Wade’s claim in his affidavit that they did not start dating until 2022.”

The filing was made as part of Roman’s effort to disqualify Willis, Wade and the district attorney’s office from the case, arguing the couple’s affair created a professional conflict of interest that has led to the former President’s election meddling case.

Willis admitted last week to having a “personal relationship” with Nathan Wade, who Roman accused in a previous filing of spending some of the $654,000 he earned for his work on the Trump case on lavish gifts and vacations with his boss.

Willis insists there’s no reason to toss Trump’s case, however, because he claims the romance doesn’t begin until 2022 — after he tapped Wade to lead the prosecution in 2021.

However, Bradley, Wade’s former friend and business partner, can “disprove the allegations” with information proving they were romantically linked since 2020, Roman wrote.

“If, as Bradley confirmed, Willis and Wade were in a romantic relationship before he took office, Wade likely provided Willis with gifts and other significant benefits,” the filing said.

“Indeed, the State and Wade have now filed a motion to quash Mr. Roman’s subpoena in an effort to prevent discovery of this fact.”

The bombshell document comes just two days after the district attorney’s office filed a motion to block Roman’s subpoena for Willis, Wade and others, including Bradley, to testify under oath at a Feb. 15 hearing.

The filing also includes new details about Willis and Wade’s vacations and trips together, including that Wade spent thousands of dollars on at least five trips for them — including two previously unknown cruises to the Bahamas and a trip to Belize.

The filing also states, “Therefore, Bradley can confirm that Willis entered into a contract with Wade after Wade and Willis began a romantic relationship, thus contradicting Wade’s claim in his affidavit that they did not start dating until 2022.” AP

Roman has revealed other trips the two took to Miami and Northern California, but Willis claims the couple took turns paying for travel expenses.

“When the line becomes blurred between a prosecutor’s interest in his personal fame and publicity and his public duty, the system breaks down, as does public confidence in the process itself, which threatens to undermine public confidence in the outcome,” Roman’s filing states.

Roman has made Willis and Wade’s romance a focal point in his attempt to get an election interference case against him and Trump tossed around, claiming there it poses a major conflict of interest and accusing Willis of financial misconduct.

Willis called the allegations “obscene” and said they “got the media attention they were designed to get.”

Wade filed for divorce from his wife of 26 years on the same day he was appointed special prosecutor in 2021, but the case is still not fully resolved.

Former president Trump, the current GOP presidential candidate, has been charged with more than a dozen felonies along with 14 co-defendants for their alleged efforts to overturn his 2020 loss in The Peach State to President Biden.
