He took to his Instagram Stories to post the message, providing a rationale for the expected album delay while also sharing the album’s cover art, which features a white dog with red eyes drawn by his 5-year-old son, Adonis Graham.
Drake wrote, “Well, my dilemma I’m facing is either cancel the plan to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show.”
He continued, “I owe you all these memories. We’re building and wherever we’ve missed so far we’ll definitely circle back.” The songwriter added conclusively, “For All Dogs October 6. Only the right…”
His post was met with backlash from his die-hard supporters on the X platform, where fans barely censored their unapologetic opinions. One distraught fan wrote, “Drake really rejects every album he makes. He also rejects TML (Thank Me Later), so idk why I’m surprised. But it will always surprise me.”
Another wrote, “Waiting for Drake’s ‘For All The Dogs’ album on October 6 now,” alongside a photo of a sad dog staring into a mirror. A third fan dramatically uploaded a short clip of the sports commentator having a meltdown, with the caption, “Drake rejects the album.”
Meanwhile, one disgruntled fan posted a photo of a random angry-looking guy as they complained, writing, “Why would Drake announce a release date for an album that isn’t done yet?”

One netizen said, “bro when do we get that drake album, if he rejects it again…” On the other hand, a disappointed fan calmly expressed their sadness over the recent development. They wrote, “Drake keeps playing :(? JUST DROP THE ALBUM ?.”
One X user expressed their thoughts out loud, writing, “I thought Drake said For All The Dogs was going to be the summer album… ?.”
The fan outcry comes weeks after they initially accused the “Hotline Bling” rapper of failing to deliver his eighth studio album on the same day, which was not its release date. It’s worth noting that “For All the Dogs” was originally scheduled to be released on September 22 but was pushed out by Drake.
Impatient fans immediately called the rapper “Jimmy Cooks” for allegedly failing to keep his promises. One fan claimed, “Someone lied and said Drake’s album was supposed to come out today.” Another accused social media of giving them false hope, writing, “The internet is really playing me about this Drake album. Literally called to listen all day.”
A third fan revealed, “Opened Spotify and didn’t see the new Drake Album.” Meanwhile, a fourth commenter shared a funny gif of a man sitting on a swing along with the words: ”I’ve been casually waiting all day for @Drake’s new album. Drop it already!”
A handful of Drake fans are pleading for the Toronto native to drop “For All the Dogs,” with one fan claiming they spent their birthday wishes hoping to receive the album on its scheduled date.
