A full decade after the viral pop hit that would make him famous, Jepsen is still creating pop songs that have long cemented his career!
The Blast takes a look at Jepsen’s latest album, “The Loneliest Time,” his first in three years, and shares some insight into the record, which was released on October 21.
The now 37-year-old started working on the album two years ago. Among countless other situations, history will likely remember 2020 as the year many struggled with feelings of loneliness following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jepsen knew he would tackle the concept of loneliness and the idea of having a strong feeling on the album.
“It’s a lifelong inquiry I’ve had with myself about my relationship with loneliness,” he explained in an interview with The Cut ahead of the album’s release. “The idea that you have to be happy with yourself- like, ‘Go ahead and be happy!’- that’s normal for me. You become very happy on your own when you know you have connections out there,” she continued.
“Go Find Yourself Or Whatever” broadens his perspective on loneliness in interviews by highlighting how universal an emotion it is.
“Loneliness is the same thing as love,” he continued in an interview, “It is felt everywhere by everyone at different times in their lives.”
