Whoopi Goldberg has become the latest celebrity to leave Twitter since its multi-billion dollar takeover by Elon Musk.
The 66-year-old shut down his account after a one-minute rant on “The View,” in which he explained that the social media platform had become a “mess.” He has also talked about staff layoffs, $8 blue check fees, and Kathy Griffin getting fired for using Musk’s name to act as a parody account. The host joins celebrities such as Shonda Rhimes and Gigi Hadid, who recently claimed they were leaving the platform.

Goldberg sounded more than done when the topic of Twitter came up, and he began listing all the announcements Musk had made since completing the acquisition of the platform. He began:

On Monday, The Blast reported that Musk officially suspended Kathy Griffin from Twitter following a routine impersonation from the comedian. The drama began after the 62-year-old changed his profile name and picture to “Elon Musk” — the handle still read @kathygriffin. He also tweeted:
“After many passionate discussions with the women in my life. I’ve decided that voting blue for their choice is the right thing to do (They’re hot ladies too, btw.) #VoteBlueUntukMelindungiWanta.”
While many laughed at the “joke,” the laughter stopped when word began to spread that Musk had been suspended for impersonating Tesla’s CEO. However, SpaceX investors applauded that he was “suspended for impersonating a comedian” and suggested that if he “really” wants his account back, he can have it – he just has to pay a premium of $8.
