Jess Hayes Reflects on Her Life Since Suffering a Recent Second Miscarriage

Almost a year after she revealed she was in therapy for the loss of a baby following her 2020 miscarriage, Hayes is having another one. She shared the news with a black-and-white photo of her baby bump leading a slideshow she posted over the weekend.

In the image, the 2015 “Love Island” winner posed in front of a mirror wearing what appeared to be a different color bra than her black joggers. The mother of one followed up with a collage featuring a sonogram and its interpretation and a positive pregnancy test, adding a page excerpt from the book in the fourth slide. The words read:

“Remember that one thing you thought you couldn’t overcome but you did? Yeah. You can do it again.”

The final slide showcases a notification telling Hayes that her baby’s hands will “soon be opening and closing.” While the text’s caption suggests the Gloucester native was 11 weeks along when she got the message, it’s not clear if the pregnancy was any older when she lost it. Beginning her caption with a trigger warning, the TV personality wrote:

“I’m debating posting it feels so weird to open up and feel vulnerable but you know I’m always open and honest with you all and it’s hard to pretend I’m ok because it’s been a tough week. But I hope someone experiencing the same thing can help. I used to be pregnant and now I’m not anymore.”

The 29-year-old explained that the pain goes beyond “pregnancy loss” to include “the plans you make, your vision of how the baby or child will be, what your family will look like.”

He later admitted that he had made a “big mistake” by going out and busying himself on that fateful day, adding that he planned to tell his loved ones about the good news this coming Easter weekend “in a special way.”

“Who knows what will come in the future.. Although I’m a bit scared and not sure I want to go through another loss. It’s hard to say. But I hope, I must be,” he continued.

After expressing her hopes of carrying her baby to full term in the future, she credited her son Presley for being “more of a blessing every day.”

Touched by the honesty, one fan commented, “as a mom who has had 2 miscarriages and lost my 8 month old son, you’re right, it’s okay when you lose them, it’s always horrible.”

A second person admitted that the post “touched a nerve,” recounting that they suffered two consecutive miscarriages within five months. The incident prompted Instagram users to give their bodies a break for six months, and after that wait, they welcomed their second child.

The most touching statement, however, came from a 57-year-old woman who revealed how difficult it was to lose two babies in her 20s. She stated that she “felt it very difficult because 30 years ago, no one around me would talk about it, I was left alone to grieve.” Hayes shares her three-year-old son with her ex-fiancé, Dan Lawry.

Model Talks About ‘Pressure’ To Change Body After ‘Love Island’

Metro UK observed that the blonde beauty cried during her appearance on the documentary “Love Island: Untold” last December. He was moved to talk about his time in the villa as he and his former co-stars opened up about what happened after the series ended. Recalling the cosmetic changes she made to her face, she stated:

“I remember going in there [the villa] very natural, I am who I am. I went out and immediately was like I have to go and screw myself, my face.”

That “need” led to her getting fillers in different parts of her body, including her face and lips. “You become obsessed with your appearance, and it’s always taking care of it. And in the end, that really took its toll,” said the blue-eyed celebrity again.

Hayes’ life was made worse by comments from internet trolls about her appearance, putting more “pressure from all angles” to look a certain way. Since then she learned to appreciate her body and ignore unkind words from strangers.
