The Walt Disney Company has just released a trailer for the upcoming live-action “Peter Pan” movie titled “Peter Pan and Wendy”.
The star-studded cast includes Jude Law as Captain Hook, Ever Anderson as Wendy, Alexander Molnoy as Peter Pan, and Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.
David Lowery, known as the live-action director of “Pete’s Dragon” is directing the upcoming live-action “Peter Pan” movie with Toby Halbrooks, who is best known for co-writing “Pete’s Dragon”. Meanwhile, in production is Jim Whitaker, known for his work on “A Wrinkle In Time” alongside Joe Roth, known for “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil”.

Disney just dropped the trailer for the upcoming “Peter Pan and Wendy” movie, which will be released exclusively to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, on April 28, and it’s the first time Disney has given fans a look at “Grown-ish” star Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.

Yara Shahidi Talks About Portraying Tinkerbell

When Yara Shahidi was first announced to play Tinkerbell in “Peter Pan and Wendy,” she spoke to him Diversityprovides an insight into how much fun it is to take on this role.
“You know, Tinker Bell is so much fun,” Shahidi said Diversity. “I think the thing I like the most about this recruitment is that Tinker Bell is coming with a lot of agency, you know? He may be a famous friend, but I love the fact that he is driven and motivated in his own way. I don’t want to give too much away, but I’m really looking forward to this adaptation.”
Writer and director David Lowery also spoke about the upcoming live-action, saying, “In making Peter Pan & Wendy, we set out to create a film that honored both JM Barrie’s original text and Walt Disney’s animated adaptation; we want to infuse our retellings with emotional sincerity, an open heart and a great longing for adventure.”
“Hundreds of incredible artists spent years bringing this film to the screen. I’m excited for viewers to see their work, continue this journey, and rediscover the evergreen story from a new perspective,” he added.
