Farrah Abraham has spoken out after facing massive backlash for allowing her teenage daughter to get six piercings for her 14th birthday.
Last week, Explosion reported on Sophia Abraham getting six piercings in one day to celebrate her birthday.
He got a “snake bite” piercing under his lower lip, two earlobe piercings and two other unknown piercings.
Farrah Abraham Lets Daughter Get 6 Piercings In One Sitting
“HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY! #snakebite & #earlobe piercing party! 6 piercings later #snakebitepiercings you match your snake ? you can even eat your cake?” he captioned the video.
Her daughter is definitely in a “gothic/emo phase” and lives up to the aesthetic.
As you can imagine, Farrah’s decision to allow a 14-year-old to get all these piercings IMMEDIATELY caused a backlash.
“Not too young,” wrote one.
“Poor girl has no chance,” added another.
One enthusiastic reviewer wrote, “It’s one thing to be a cool parent but another to not lay down guidelines and rules. When you’re 18 out of high school, you want a tattoo you want to put holes all over your body that you have. At the age of 14 you have to become a parent. I would say no no and not piercing the ears it’s a coloring thing here that’s cool wanting to dress the way you want to some degree. I think children rule parents and parents don’t like the good old days.”

Speak to TMZ, the “Teen Moms” alum said, “I’m lucky to be able to go with my son when he’s thinking about getting these piercings and things, and the company says, ‘We’re not going to give you ten piercings that you want, like your body , your ears can only handle the four below and maybe in six months you can add any other piercings you want.’ So, I’m happy to bring in a professional and I can only say like something might not be healthy enough, but I think that’s part of our kids, just like I’ll go through later, parenting myself.”
Farrah says she is teaching her daughter self-love and self-care by allowing her to get these piercings.
Farrah Won’t Let Sophia Drink, Do Drugs Or Have Sex!
“So Sophia did that and I gave her a warm, comfortable place to do that as a teenager to nurture herself and relearn things,” Farrah said. “Every generation is different. I know that it can close, it will go away and I think we just have to remember the appropriate age, what will heal, what will disappear. And other things that are more permanent, like tattoos, I’m definitely not about. I really love this ongoing parent-shaming conversation on the Internet and that’s partly down to us allowing our lives to be on TV.”
While many online continue to bash Farrah’s parenting style, she insists there are boundaries she won’t let Sophia cross.
“So, I will always be open to talk and is there a limit to myself and the discussion. I don’t really agree with parents who only let their children drink alcohol at a young age, or have sex at a young age. I mean, I’m speaking as a parent of a teenager who lost her baby’s father, who went through a very traumatic time in her life,” he explained. “I’ve shown it on television, so I wouldn’t really agree with my son dating or having sex. My son is experimenting with drugs or maybe dead right now. So, there must be real things that parents go through that may be much more difficult than a piercing that may be rejected.”
Sophia will return to the piercing house in six months for more piercings.
“I am very proud of my daughter. He is on his own health journey. I couldn’t be prouder of him,” Farrah concluded.
