Dr. Anthony Fauci was secretly “escorted” to CIA headquarters where he tried to “influence” the outcome of the agency’s investigation into the origins of COVID-19 during the outbreak, the Republican chairman of the House coronavirus panel has alleged.
Representative Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, disclosed what he called “concerning information” his panel obtained in a letter sent to the inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services on Tuesday, arguing that it ” giving credence to growing concerns about the promotion of false COVID-19 origin narratives by some federal government agencies.”
“The information provided indicates that Dr. Fauci was escorted to Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Headquarters — without a record of entry — and participated in an analysis to ‘influence’ the Agency’s review,” Wenstrup said. “Our goal is to ensure that the process of scientific investigation into the origins of COVID-19 is fair, unbiased and free from alternative influences.”
The date of Fauci’s alleged off-the-books visit to CIA headquarters in Langley, Va., was not mentioned in Wenstrup’s letter to HHS Inspector General Christi Grimm.

“The American people deserve the truth – to know the origin of the virus and whether there was a concerted effort by public health authorities to suppress the lab leak theory for political or national security purposes,” Wenstrup argued, demanding information related to “movements from Dr. Fauci throughout the epidemic.”
Specifically, Wenstrup sought documents and communications between HHS, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the US Marshals Service — tasked with protecting Fauci — regarding the entry or entry of the former White House coronavirus czar into any building owned, operated or occupied by C.I.A.
“In addition to this document, we ask you to make [HHS] Special Agent Brett Rowland is available for a voluntarily transcribed interview at a date to be determined,” Wenstrup added.

The new allegations come after a senior CIA official turned whistleblower alleged to Congress earlier this month that the intelligence agency offered to pay six analysts to bury their findings that COVID-19 most likely leaked from a lab in Wuhan, China.
Analysts, who found that SARS-CoV-2 likely originated in a Wuhan laboratory, were allegedly asked to report that the virus jumped from animals to humans, according to Wenstrup and Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (R-Ohio).
The seventh analyst, the most senior, is the only member of the team who believes COVID-19 is zoonotic, according to lawmakers.

The US intelligence community declassified a 10-page report on the origins of COVID in June, which found “biosecurity concerns” and “genetic engineering” took place at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but most of its “agencies assessed that SARS-CoV-2 was not genetically engineered.”
The CIA and one other intelligence agency “remain unable to determine the exact origin of the COVID-19 outbreak, as both hypotheses rely on important assumptions or are challenged by conflicting reporting,” he said.
