The first photos emerged Tuesday of a seemingly “normal” Washington family who died in a tragic murder-suicide.
Stuart Rouse, 64, and his wife Christina, 63, were found dead in their home in Vancouver, Washington, on Sunday, along with their two adult children Kristina and Melissa, and Stuart’s brother in an apparent murder-suicide.
Police said based on evidence they saw at the home, Rouse killed his wife and family before shooting himself in the bathroom.
The family was identified by Rouse’s daughter-in-law, Anne Aquino, who married the family’s only surviving child, Kristoffer Rouse.
“I don’t know how to start this, but my husband’s father, stepmother, 2 sisters and my uncle died tragically on the morning of Dec 3rd. We are still in disbelief and our hearts are broken,” Aquino wrote on the GoFundMe page.
When contacted by The Post, Aquino said he was “not ready” to talk and declined to comment further.
Stuart had no criminal background prior to the shooting, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

A neighbor, who described the family as “normal,” said they heard screams coming from the house before hearing the gunshots.
Police arrived at the home around 1pm after a relative called police hours after receiving an odd text message from Stuart, who allegedly wrote he had “hurt other people, according to KOIN. Police believe the victim was already dead when they arrived for a welfare check.
For several hours, deputies stood outside the home and tried to contact the shooter through a bullhorn. The home had been designated a crime scene and officers needed a warrant to enter.

After getting it, they sent a drone into the home, and found several people who appeared to be dead, the sheriff’s office said.
The motive for the shooting is unknown.
Old friends remembered Melissa and Kristina at the fundraiser.

The family previously suffered a tragedy in 2021 when one of their sons, Brian, died at the age of 38. A note on the memorial page indicated he had taken his own life.
