A Brazilian fitness trainer was found dead outside her parents’ home after she had a physical altercation with her husband.
The body of Débora “Debby” Michels was wrapped in a red cloth and left on the sidewalk just meters from her parents’ home on Friday, according to local media.
“Debora was a person who was loved by everyone here in the community. Friends, family, everyone loved him,” his brother, Alex Michels, 41, told the outlet.
Her husband, Alexander Gunsch, 48, confessed to local authorities that he killed Michels and disposed of her body after turning himself in, local outlets reported.
Gunsch told police that he grabbed and lifted Michels by the neck during the argument and threw him against a dresser, causing him to start feeling sick.
Afterwards, Gunsch put his wife in the car to go to the hospital, but he realized that she had died on the way.
He started to panic, so he dumped the body outside his parents’ house in Montenegro.
“He just threw the victim’s body in front [her] parents’ residence. He not only threw away the mobile phone, but also the victim’s body,” a police spokesperson told GZH.

Police ruled Michels’ death a homicide and ordered Gunsch into custody. He was arrested Sunday.
“It’s important for us to tell women not to stay silent, to get help,” the spokesperson said. “The only way to stop these male attackers is for the authorities to do something, because they will never stop.”
Her family told a local outlet that their daughter had never told them about Gunsch getting physical before, but that the couple was in the process of separating.
Gunsch and Michels have been together for 11 years, according to GZH.
He was supposed to move into his own apartment the day after her death, local outlets reported.
Her mother was reportedly supposed to help her pack her things the day she was found, but was surprised by military police investigating her daughter’s death.

The personal trainer was known for his passion for fitness and he enjoyed his job, his brother said.
“The people at the gym, who work with him, love his smile and his joy at work. He loves what he does. He really liked it, and it really touched people, our family too. He is a charming person, very special,” he said.
He has been working as a personal trainer since 2011 and uses his social media platforms to share fitness tips and gym routines.

Michels also participated in bodybuilding competitions and worked at a gym in Montenegro.
Michels also holds a degree in physical education from Unisinos, a Jesuit university in southern Brazil, according to GHZ.
While there, he met Gunsch, whom he helped train. They ended up in a relationship and worked at the same gym, according to her 71-year-old father, Davi Rodrigues da Silva.
“They met there, had a relationship, fell in love,” he told a local outlet.
After learning the couple intended to separate, Rodrigues da Silva went to talk to Gunsch, he said.

“I went to talk to him, because he is also a father. I believe. And at night he did this barbaric thing,” he told GZH. “We are a happy family. Now he has destroyed everything.
“We always do the best for our daughter. Let’s try to save her beautiful image. But it is very evil. An atrocity. I only ask that justice be done, for the love of God. It hurts so much. I don’t want anyone to go through that.”
His brother said: “This situation is disgusting. What our family wants is justice. You cannot let anyone go unpunished.”
Her friend Deise Chemelo remembers the fitness teacher as “a magnetic person.”
“He lights up every place he goes; he only has friends, and he only does good,” said Chemelo. “A fighter, an entrepreneur, there is no explanation for what happened. He doesn’t deserve it. We don’t understand.”
Michels’ funeral took place on Saturday. He was buried in the Montenegro Municipal Cemetery.
