Five trans players dominate women’s college volleyball game, sparking outrage and claims of ‘cheating’

Five transgender players reportedly dominated a recent women’s college volleyball game in Canada – sparking outrage online, including from tennis great Martina Navratilova.

Canadian website Rebel News posted footage showing three trans athletes playing for the Seneca Sting and two for the Centennial Colts in a January 24 game last month.

Trans athletes play the full game — while biological women are left to warm the bench, according to a right-wing website that regularly shows up to sporting events with trans competitors.

All five were also dominant in the game, helping Seneca win the best-of-five series, defeating Centennial by a score of three games to one, the website said.

Rebel News said it attended the match after receiving information – angry match officials and staff, some of whom asked them to leave and stop filming.

David Menzies on the site was recorded repeatedly asking people there, including Centennial coach Andrew Mallory, why they used “boy players.”

“I don’t,” Mallory answered bluntly.

Rebel News claims that “people in volleyball are telling us that the situation is so bad that it’s no longer safe for biological women to compete,” claiming that two female athletes recently suffered concussions in incidents involving trans women, including one who played as a man last season.

The whistleblower said at least six trans women play in the women’s league, which is administered by the Ontario Collegiate Athletic Association.

The league’s policy states that “trans female student-athletes (MTFs) who are treated with testosterone-suppressing drugs for Gender Identity Disorder or gender dysphoria” cannot compete on women’s teams until after “completing one calendar year of testosterone-suppressive treatment,” The Blaze reported.

The video from the Jan. 24 game sparked a backlash, infuriating many who are already worried about the future of women’s sports.

“How wrong is this? Yup, this is wrong,” the tennis legend Martina Navratilova commented to broadcast X reports and recordings. “This has to stop!”

He responds to the posts of British-Italian authors and entrepreneurs Paola Diana, who wrote: “This is not diversity. This is cheating. This is madness. This is misogyny.”
