It was a false fire alarm.
The “fire” coming from Blackpool Tower in England is just a flutter of orange netting.
Witnesses saw what appeared to be flames coming from metal parts at the top of the tower, a tourist attraction in Blackpool, a seaside resort town in Lancashire, England, shortly after 2pm on December 28, according to the BBC.
Six fire engines from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, a drone team and a “rope rescue” team arrived at the scene, evacuated staff from the building, flew a helicopter over the area and confirmed there was no fire.
“Areas suspected of fire are generally inaccessible, therefore access to these areas is difficult. Specialist rope rescue teams gained access and confirmed that there was no fire,” the LFRS said on its website.
“The incident was supported by the National Police Air Service, which used thermal imaging which provided further assurance (the fire service drone was unable to fly due to windy weather conditions).”

The 129-year-old tower stands at a height of over 518 feet and was inspired by Paris’s Eiffel Tower.
